Often controversial, wind energy in Tipperary has resulted in almost 600 jobs and is worth millions to the local economy.
There are currently 24 windfarms dotted across the Premier and they have the capacity to power almost quarter of a million homes annually.
It comes as the Irish Wind Energy Association has launched its vision on how renewables will contribute in the near future as well as guidelines on engaging better with communities located near new proposed wind farms.
