Ep. 45 — After another brief hiatus, Bobby and Alex return just in time to see Timmy T make the Double-A All-Star game, and smack a double no less. But before that, they for some reason end up discussing Archie Bradley’s bowel movements at length, review a deeply painful walk-off by the Astros against the A’s, get Bobby’s thoughts on a pair of ballparks yet unseen by the pod, and profess their love for Kiké Hernandez. Then they wonder what the hell is going on in the Cardinals clubhouse (disclosure: this episode was recorded before Mike Matheny got canned (baiiiii)), and ask if anyone should care about the All-Star game. Finally, Mama Tebow gives her Professional Scouting Report on her son, because really what do we have left at this point. Call him up!

Ep. 44 — On this episode, Bobby and Alex examine the Phillie Phanatic’s flagrant assault on a woman with a hot dog gun and what it says about America, and give thanks to Hunter Strickland for proving their point about dumb baseball beefs. Then they take a serious look at the prospect of Ichiro in the home run derby and other ways to make the All-Star break more interesting. They resurrect the Bad Take Dramatic Reading series with friend of the pod Bob Nightengale and his column about how strikeouts and stats and game lengths and also probably what he ate for breakfast this morning are ruining the game of baseball, and wrap it up with a check in on Tebow, who continues to defy expectations.

Ep. 43 — On this abnormally long episode, Alex and Bobby banter about Shohei Ohtani’s injury, Mike Trout’s immortality, and a very fun Mariners team. Then they go deep on the now-infamous Terry Collins-Tom Hallion video, analyzing each character’s actions and asking certain jackpot-related questions. They interrogate the usage of anonymous quotes in sports journalism and make their case against intentional hit-by-pitches. Finally, they do a brief check in on the A’s and Mets and see if it’s either team’s year (it’s not) and get an in-person Tim Tebow scouting report from Bobby.

Ep. 42 — After a slight hiatus due to some slight life changes, Bobby and Alex return with that hot, hot content you’ve all been craving. They go over some notes from the MLB draft, including Kyler Murray and the joy of risks, how to make the draft more fun, and why it’s good that Luke Heimlich didn’t get drafted. Then they touch on Carlos Gomez’s poignant observation about the bias of PED testing amid a handful of suspensions doled out to Dominican players this year. They wrap it up by (unfortunately) checking in on the Mets and A’s, and take a look down on the farm at a somewhat uninspiring year by Tim Tebow. The boys are back!
