Ep. 29 — Alex and Bobby banter about some recent transactions, including Yu Darvish to the Cubs, Todd Frazier to the Mets, and — the biggest one of all — Russell Wilson to the Yankees. Then they dive right into the 5,461(!!!) words that Tom Verducci gave to Derek Jeter (no literally, handed the pen to him) about his quest to turn around the Marlins and become the benevolent king of Florida or something like that. They wrap it up with their ideal baseball roomies, and give a Valentine’s Day shoutout to their favorite on-field couples around the league.

Ep. 28 — Bobby and Alex talk a bit of transactional news coming out of Oakland, and highlight Brandon Moss’s comments about the slow offseason and the responsibility the players need to shoulder. They throw out a few early dark horse MVP picks, and review the good-but-not-applause-worthy decision by the Cleveland Indians to FI-NAL-LY get rid of the abhorrent Chief Wahoo logo (next up: the team name!). Finally, they look at a couple recent developments in the Pace Of Play Saga, and talk about Rob Manfred’s record as baseball’s commissioner.

Ep. 27 — Alex and Bobby do a rundown of where the Brewers stand after their eventful Thursday evening, doff their caps to the four newest Hall of Fame inductees (mostly to Vlad), and get irrationally upset at whoever vandalized the “Field of Dreams” field. They also discuss the prospect of a strike among the players and the larger financial structure of baseball today. Finally, they settle into their new brand as a Baseball Reality Show Review Podcast, talking about Big Papi’s upcoming show where he basically just does stuff and lobbing out better reality show ideas for a few guys once they wrap up their baseball careers.

Ep. 26 — Back on the same coast, Bobby and Alex discuss the Andrew McCutchen at length, dive down the rabbit hole of what a 50 inning baseball game would look like (not baseball, is the answer), take a bite out of Prince Fielder’s wonderfully bizarre food show, and answer a listener question — their very first! — about the possibilities of trading from scrub to star. Then they have an in-depth conversation about why baseball doesn’t have a LeBron equivalent; i.e., an ambassador for the game who becomes a worthy interview on things beyond the sport itself. They wrap it up by bringing back an old friend and seeing how the offseason is treating him.

Ep. 25 — Alex and Bobby kick off the Slow Offseason Pod with a reminiscence on the life and legacy of Trenton Thunder bat dog Home Run Derby, then discuss some recent signs of life on the lukewarm stove, including whether we should give the Astros the World Series trophy now and if the Mets actually have a plan for this year. They deliver a scouting report on Rafael Palmeiro’s batting practice video, and give 50 Cent his due as he attempts to make his own comeback to the mound. They round things out with a look ahead to 2018 and make predictions on what the worst takes will be this year — because there’s sure to be no shortage.

Ep. 24 — Bobby and Alex kick off 2018 with a rundown of some recent baseball news, then dive into one former Mets player’s strange in-game habits and dissect another’s Twitter. Then they have an extended discussion on a pair of troubling stories from around baseball involving misconduct against women both on and off the field, and talk about the issue of violence against women in the sport at large. They wrap up the episode with a few hypotheses on things that players would like to leave in 2017, and a chat about what they hope to see from baseball as fans in 2018.
