Tis the Podcast

This week, the elves are joined by Dr. Stephen Lind, author of A Charlie Brown Religion: Exploring the Spiritual Life and Work of Charles M. Schulz, to discuss the 1965 TV classic A Charlie Brown Christmas. In addition to talking the whole Peanuts gang, the elves discuss Christmas traditions, favorite holiday literature, and read listener mail.

This week, the elves prepare for Halloween by delving into their first Christmas horror (sorta) film, the 2015 Adam Scott and Toni Colette vehicle, Krampus. The elves have a lot of fun with the horror genre, talk Krampus folklore, and discuss Advent Calendar traditions. We don't want to brag, but this is our best episode yet and you don't want to miss it!

This week, Thom, Julia, and Anthony delve into the Christmas "classic" I'll be Home for Christmas. The elves have some difficulty with the former teeny-bopper star Jonathan Taylor Thomas' 1998 comedy and spend some time looking into what makes a good Christmas movie. Also, they delve into what holiday decoration goes out first in their own homes.

In this fifth episode, Anthony, Thom and Julia discuss Die Hard. The first in the exclusive “Non-Christmas-Christmas-Movie” category, the elves delve into what makes a Christmas movie, including a hard look at the Linus Test. Also discussed are favorite Christmas foods, and the reading of listener emails and comments.

Back in 2011, Sony Animation dipped its toes into the Christmas waters with Arthur Christmas. Can Arthur's Christmas spirit be enough to break into the top spot on our list? Listen as the elves dissect this film, discuss Christmas traditions, and have their first on air disagreement.
