Growing up a competitive swimmer, Marsie Salvatori learned that “you can always go harder than you think” but transitioned to lacrosse to enjoy the rush of scoring, and build strong relationships. On her 22nd birthday, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The lessons and bonds created through athletics helped her take it “one day at a time”, led to tremendous support from teammates and even gave her the strength to support a former teammate with a new cancer diagnosis. These experiences have shaped her mindset to find purpose giving back to the cancer community. She will now turn her passion into her profession as a social worker in oncology for young adults.
