Leah Jantzen grew up playing multiple sports but never felt like she really pushed herself. After 4 children, she reconnected with fitness at the age of 40. Two years later, she ran her first marathon and a few years later qualified for Ironman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii in 2020. Due to circumstances out of her control, the biggest race of her life has been postponed for two years. She discusses her ongoing training process, navigating the mental/emotional challenges through this process while managing life as a mother, guidance counselor, coach and endurance athlete by “showing up every day. “ In a few short weeks, she will finally be able to complete her “unfinished business” while raising money and awareness for The Hidden Opponent, an organization dedicated to mental health and awareness of student athletes.
