This episode we are back with our horror podcast with two completely different movies.  The first came out this past year and I believe it would have been successful had it not been kneecapped by the closing of the theatres.  The second film is a SyFy original film and the quality suffers for it.

The topic of discussion for this weekends category episode is animated films not made by Disney.  Disney is most definitely king of the mountain, but there are several very strong flicks made by other studios.  We discuss three movies that vary in animation style as well as story.  It should be noted that we didn't consider any of the Japanese anime style because we thought that could be its own category. 

A new movie just recently dropped on HBO Max, so we decided to discuss it.  The movie is live action with traditional animation and includes characters that we both watched when we were growing up.  The trailer did the movie a huge disservice as I was expecting it to be much worse than it actually was.  It was a movie that wasn't needed, but had some moments that will bring you back to your childhood.

This episode we discuss the red carpet for the 2021 Golden Globes.  With everything going on in the world, there wasn't actually a red carpet, just a bunch of zoom calls to celebrities all dressed up just to sit at home.  While there isn't as much to discuss as there was on our previous red carpet episodes, we still cover a variety of topics.

This installment of our category podcast has us look at movies that should never be remade.  Remaking films is a cash cow for Hollywood and more often than not, they do not live up to the original.  We end up discussing three very different movies from very different eras, and we all agreed that these movies should not be touched.  

Valentines Day has come and gone, so it only makes sense to do an episode on a romantic comedy.  We ended up choosing a Netflix original, and to be honest, it was better than we anticipated.  Like most rom-coms, it is pretty paint by numbers and you know the ending 5 minutes in.  That being said, it was quite a bit dirtier than expected.  We also have a special guest call in for a bit who had also seen the movie.

This week in our category podcast we decided to take a look at a single director.  Zemeckis has a pretty diverse filmography that covers many different genres.  We decided that we wouldn't choose a movie that we had previously discussed, so that essentially wiped out what would have probably been everyone's choice: the Back To The Future Series.  We each chose different movies, all of which may come as a surprise.

We are finally getting closer to wrapping up the 2000's.  2019 was a year where we saw significantly more movies in the theatres.  This was a difficult year to choose only 8, and we did have a decent amount of crossover with the three of us.  Next year will be a bit difficult since the movie industry was drastically effected by what transpired in 2020.

This entry in our horror edition of the podcast has two movies that were immensely disappointing.  Both films came out in 2020, and neither should have been considered horror.  The first is apparently based on a true story about a serial killer while the other tries to be a black comedy but comes up short on  the comedy.  Bad movies usually make for good conversation though.

For this weeks category episode, we take a look back at a decade that spawned dozens of romantic comedy movies.  Some were good, while most were bad.  I think it is safe to say that none of us picked what would be considered obvious choices, and the movies that we did pick are vastly different from one another.
