It’s the finale of eclipse season, baby!

This is the second New Moon in Virgo in a row, and this one is an eclipse. As an eclipse on the south node, yes, there can be beginnings, but after a period of release, endings, and clearing toxicity from your life. This eclipse is also opposite Saturn, planet of lessons, grit, and determination. This eclipse is not a happy-go-lucky time, but an energy that can us realistically assess what’s in the way or blocking us if we feel like we’re having a difficult time manifesting the good in our lives.

Change is in the air this week as the total lunar eclipse in Pisces approaches on September 7th!

Eclipses bring change, an interruption to the daily rhythm of life. And like all full moons, this can bring an ending, a completion, or something culminating. But eclipses can feel much more intense and be that much more significant. 

Luckily this eclipse feels extremely supportive and fortunate, and you might called to listen to your intuition, honor your feelings, and feel encouraged to take a risk and go in the direction of your dreams, as this eclipse is ruled and making a gorgeous aspect to Jupiter, planet of expansion and faith, in Cancer.

In this lead-up week to eclipse season and the first week of Virgo Season, we have plenty of exciting Astrology to cover!Venus, planet of love, beauty, and relationships, enters dramatic, expressive, and committed Leo where she’ll remain until September 19th. The New Moon in Virgo is not your average New Moon. Virgo is often associated with the humility, routine, decluttering, and wellness - and while these themes certainly apply to this New Moon, this lunation will be exactly square Uranus, the planet of revolution, freedom, and change, in the sign of Gemini.

We could feel a need to break with convention or usher in dramatic change under this New Moon. We could also experience unanticipated changes under this lunation as well with unpredictable Uranus.

Additionally, this is the first of two New Moons in the sign of Virgo, the second being solar eclipse on September 21st. So this New Moon could feel ‘eclipse-y’ meaning there can be an eclipse flavor to this New Moon, pointing to more significant changes occurring in September when we have both a Lunar and Solar eclipse in the signs of Virgo and Pisces.

The Full Moon in Aquarius occurs between two extremes. On one hand, we have some really tough astrology via a Mars/Saturn opposition. This energy can speak to delays, frustrations, blockages, and irritation. On the other hand, just a few days later we have a conjunction of Venus and Jupiter, which indicates major blessings, opportunities, and sweetness via connection with loved ones and family. The New Moon and Mercury Retrograde in Leo are here, and this is certainly an intense cycle as they both oppose Pluto, the planet of the underworld, secrets, and obsession. On a collective level, this is speaking to the obsession of finding the truth of the Epstein Files, and Donald Trump is a major player in this Astrology, as the retrograde is happening in his first house of Leo. On a personal level, this energy can represent taking on a significant challenge and facing your fears. After all, Pluto does represent transformation and healing. July 2025 is another incredibly active Astrological month, as Uranus, planet of disruption, rebellion, authenticity, and genius, enters Gemini for the first time since 1948. This is just a preview of a much longer transit, as it leaves Gemini in November to finish up its journey in Taurus, when it re-enters the sign of the Twins in April 2026.

We have a Full Moon in Capricorn on July 10th ruled by Saturn in Aries - it suggests it’s a time of transition, and that the usual structures of our lives and in society at large are in flux and we’re not sure which way is up, and which is down. 

On the 18th, Mercury stations retrograde in Leo, and a few days later on the 24th we have a powerful New Moon in Leo opposite Pluto in Aquarius. This New Moon in my opinion suggests potential to make significant changes in our lives, but they do suggest facing a daunting challenge head-on. It involves power dynamics, power struggles, a sense of obsession and being fixated and laser-focused.
