Eclipses in Astrology are unique New and Full Moons. They’re connected to a larger narrative, representing significant beginnings and endings in some area of life. They are supercharged lunations and are a bit more unpredictable and erratic than a regular new and full moons.

This eclipse kicks off a new series of eclipses in Pisces and Virgo. The last time we had eclipses in these signs was March 2015 - February (and early spring) 2017, so these eclipses may be tied into similar life areas that were affected by these previous eclipses.

The New Moon in Virgo feels practical, grounded, and a time to check-in with your health and immediate environment. It offers the chance for a cleansing reset and can certainly usher in a new beginning, however, whatever new beginning is coming in has the weight of responsibility attached to it, with the New Moon being opposite Saturn. It also could be that this New Moon may point out that we simply cannot be everywhere all at once, and sometimes restriction is a good thing as it can bring balance to our lives.

Venus, planet of beauty and sweetness, moves into refined and graceful Libra, her air sign home. Venus will be here from August 29 - September 22nd. Meet people and enjoy the finer things! Venus is back, baby!

After a particularly challenging (but eventful!) tour through Virgo, Venus moves into her own kingdom during her time in Libra. While Venus was in Virgo, she was faced with a myriad of things that frankly made her life more difficult. Venus rules relationships, worth, and things we deem valuable. Venus is technically more uncomfortable in Virgo to begin with, and she also had to contend with a very challenging sky.

Venus in Libra is a time to appreciate or create art and beauty, to enjoy breezy socializing, to indulge in fashion and to make one’s surroundings more pleasing and beautiful. This could also better time to connect with someone new on a romantic or purely platonic level, too. Venus will be moving through the South Node on September 3rd, so be aware that this is a lighter side of Venus, you may also be releasing some outdated relationship dynamics, or simply wanting to purge or get rid of things in your environment or belongings that no longer bring you joy.

The New Moon in Leo arriving on August 4th is a relatively uncomplicated, straightforward New Moon that’s a bright spot in a month of some very busy Astrological influences. 

It’s an invitation to live out loud, with permission to be fully cringe about it. Leo, after all, is ruled by the Sun, the life-giving king of solar system who represents the spark of divine consciousness and uniqueness in all of us.
