  • Rain Making Gun
    Originally Aired: December 14, 1938
The Lone Ranger #918, "Rain Making Gun," finds a Kansas farming community in desperate straits as a severe drought threatens to destroy the entire wheat crop. Clem Barker, a local leader, calls a meeting with his neighbors including Jim and Leif to propose a plan: pool their money to hire men to haul water from Mud River to save at least one field, which can provide seed for everyone next year. The farmers reluctantly agree, scraping together about a thousand dollars for the effort.
However, word of the farmers' plan and their pooled cash reaches a fashionable swindler named Kincaid, who stages an elaborate con with his accomplice Lorimer. When Clem arrives in town to hire workers, he overhears Lorimer praising Kincaid's miraculous "rain-making gun" that supposedly saved crops in Dakota with just three shots. Despite the outlandish claims about bursting rain clouds through scientific disturbance, the desperate Clem falls for the scheme and agrees to pay a thousand dollars to rent the device. As the deal is struck, a mysterious tall stranger quietly slips away from the scene, reaching for a distinctive white hat hanging on his silver stallion's saddle.

  • Missing Pardon
    Originally Aired: December 12, 1938
The Lone Ranger #917, "Missing Pardon," finds the masked rider and Tonto confronted by Vern Jackson, an escaped convict bent on revenge. Vern accuses the Lone Ranger of murdering his brother Walt and believes he has proof—a mask found beside Walt's body. Despite the deadly confrontation, the Lone Ranger subdues the hot-headed young man and hears his story. Vern reveals how Jake Fowler framed him for theft to steal his gold claim, then had Walt killed before he could file the claim himself. Though Vern remains convinced the Lone Ranger is working with Fowler, the masked man suspects a deeper conspiracy.
Rather than turn Vern over to the law immediately, the Lone Ranger strikes an unusual bargain: he gives Vern three days before they meet at a cabin near Crow Creek for a showdown. The Lone Ranger believes Vern is no thief and recognizes that only by uncovering the truth about Walt's murder and the missing mask can he clear his own name and bring the real killer to justice. With Tonto's help, he plans to investigate Jake Fowler before their fateful appointment.

In the mining region of Washoe County, partners Bob Reed and Dan Slade strike it rich when a blasting charge reveals a massive gold vein. Originally Aired: December 5, 1938
The Lone Ranger #914, "Arizona Pete Jumps A Claim," opens with aging prospector Ezra Holton returning home from the assay office after dropping off his latest ore sample. As he regales his skeptical wife Millie with tales of the Lone Ranger's heroics—including how the masked man recently rescued a widow from the notorious outlaw Arizona Pete and his gang—Millie dismisses the stories as fairy tales. Ezra remains hopeful that his newest claim, located nine miles north of town, might finally yield the gold strike that has eluded him for years. The new assayer didn't immediately dismiss his samples as worthless, giving Ezra renewed hope despite Millie's doubts.
Meanwhile, a sinister plot unfolds at the assay office that evening. Arizona Pete, now going by the alias "Scrubs" to avoid detection by the sheriff, meets secretly with Logan, the new assayer. Their whispered conversation suggests a scheme involving ore samples and jumped claims, putting honest prospectors like Ezra directly in the crosshairs of Pete's criminal operation. The stage is set for the Lone Ranger to once again confront the dangerous outlaw.

The Lone Ranger #911, "Almost A Man,"
Young Neil Clark is eager to prove he's no longer a boy tied to his parents' ranch. When drifters Link Hamlin and Rusty Brennan offer him a chance to join them and earn "important cash," Neil sees an opportunity to break free from what he views as his father's hard, unrewarding life. Despite warnings from family friend Ezra, the storekeeper who once employed him, Neil dismisses concerns about his new companions as meddling. The tension comes to a head when Neil confronts his father at the corral, announcing he's leaving home. His father tries desperately to make him understand the value of honest work and the trust he's built, but Neil romanticizes Link and Rusty as "real men" with nerve, unlike those who stay "safe to home."
What Neil doesn't know is that Link and Rusty have sinister plans involving him. They're plotting to rob Ezra's store, counting on Neil's knowledge of the safe combination from his time working there. Whether Neil participates willingly or at gunpoint, the scheme is designed to get them the cash while the law gets Neil.

  • The Hawk
    Originally Aired: November 25, 1938
The Lone Ranger #910, "The Hawk," a ruthless outlaw leader known as The Hawk crosses the border with his army of cutthroats, and the entire territory braces for bloodshed. When word spreads that The Hawk is heading toward the town of Dover, Major Wilson mobilizes nearly five hundred soldiers from the fort at Preston. Railroad engineer Matt Badger and his fireman Herb are pressed into emergency service to transport the troops by train into the mountains, despite Matt's wife Bess's fears about the dangerous journey. However, minutes after departing, masked bandits swing aboard the locomotive and take control at gunpoint.
Back at the fort, a mysterious stranger arrives with startling news for young Lieutenant Rooney: Dover is a decoy. The Hawk's real target is the now-defenseless fort itself, where he plans to raid the arsenal for arms and ammunition. The stranger reveals that two of The Hawk's advance men have already infiltrated Preston and boarded the very train carrying Major Wilson and his troops, setting a deadly trap in motion. As Lieutenant Rooney realizes the soldiers are racing toward an ambush while leaving the fort vulnerable, time runs out to warn them.

  • Stage Robbery Evidence
    Originally Aired: November 23, 1938
The Lone Ranger #909, "Stage Robbery Evidence," finds the masked rider and Tonto investigating a series of brazen stagecoach robberies plaguing the route between Ogden and Hampton Mills. When the stage carrying passenger Mr. Ames is held up and over a thousand dollars in cattle money is stolen, driver Sleepy and guard Pat find themselves helpless against the masked outlaws who strike without warning. Sheriff suspects Utah Jennings and Mac Loomis are responsible, but without solid evidence or witness identification, he cannot secure a conviction. The robberies are costing Sleepy more than just pride—stage manager Grant Fergus had been ready to promote him to an office position until this latest holdup damaged his record.
The Lone Ranger, disguised as a stranger in town, questions the victims and learns crucial details about the crime. The outlaws are described as unremarkable men—middle in height, complexion, and everything else—making identification nearly impossible when masked. After determining the holdup occurred just over an hour earlier near Red River Bridge, the Lone Ranger returns to Tonto with urgent news: two men they spotted riding away from the stage trail may be the very criminals they seek.

  • The Blue Star Mine
    Originally Aired: November 21, 1938
The Lone Ranger #908, "The Blue Star Mine," the Lone Ranger and Tonto encounter rancher Hank Dobbins at an abandoned mine, where he pulls a gun on them believing they're trespassing outlaws. Hank reveals he's just purchased the supposedly worthless Blue Star Mine from owner Carl Faber for ten thousand dollars after overhearing two Eastern businessmen in a Kimberley cafe. The men, Bennett and Ransom, were discussing how mining engineer Charlie Phelps discovered the mine is actually worth fifty thousand dollars, with gold located in a side tunnel rather than the main shaft. They planned to buy it from the unsuspecting Faber for a fraction of its value.
However, when the Lone Ranger examines the tunnel, he finds no evidence of recent mining activity or the gold vein Charlie Phelps allegedly discovered. The weathered rock shows the shaft hasn't been touched in months, contradicting the businessmen's claims about Phelps' blasting and excavation. As Hank realizes he may have been duped into purchasing a worthless mine, the masked rider must determine whether this is an elaborate confidence scheme or if there's more to the Blue Star Mine than meets the eye.

When the Lone Ranger decides to investigate, he discovers Gruber's true scheme. The banker is plotting to orchestrate violent conflicts between the two groups, using their mutual hatred to drive the farmers off their land without having to pay them fairly.
