The Lone Ranger #906, "A Spaniard's Pride," the masked rider investigates a horse theft operation at the Rancho Sanchez, owned by the proud Don Diego. When valuable horses begin disappearing from the hacienda, Don Diego sends his men to guard the borders of his property, assigning his son Antonio to watch the northern boundary near Gringo territory. The Lone Ranger and Tonto discover that Antonio is reluctantly helping outlaw Dirk Spade and his gang steal his own father's horses. The young man has been forced into this betrayal because he secretly married Molly Gardner while away at school in the East, and Dirk is using this secret as blackmail, knowing that the proud Don Diego's hatred of Yankees would lead him to disown his son if the truth were revealed.
Torn between loyalty to his father and fear of exposure, Antonio allows another raid to take place. As the thefts continue and tracks leading north are discovered, Antonio faces an agonizing decision about whether to confess the truth to his father. The Lone Ranger must find a way to resolve this dangerous situation and bridge the divide between the proud Spaniard and the honest men from the north.

The masked rider and his faithful companion begin backtrailing to find where the actual shooting took place.
Before the Lone Ranger can reveal his findings, young Doug Cooley stuns everyone by confessing to the murder, claiming he shot Lynn during an argument about rustling accusations near Buffalo Basin. The sheriff promptly arrests Doug and schedules his hanging for the following morning. With time running out and Doug seemingly willing to accept his fate rather than let his father be blamed, the Lone Ranger and Tonto must uncover the truth behind Lynn Bishop's death before an innocent man faces the gallows.

The Lone Ranger suspects something isn't right about Kinney's selective hearing.
The masked man and Tonto ride hard for two days to reach Lem Mason's ranch before the law can arrest him. They find Mason to be a struggling rancher who recently had to let Kinney go due to financial troubles. Mason admits he was away from home during the robbery, traveling to San Antonio to sell cattle, but the buyer he sought was out of town, leaving him with no alibi. Though Mason insists on his innocence, he refuses to voluntarily face trial in El Dorado, leaving the Lone Ranger to uncover the real truth behind Kinney's convenient testimony.

The Lone Ranger #896, "Indian Agent Kidnapped,"
The Lone Ranger and Tonto await a special stage at Three Forks, watching for the government official sent to settle a land dispute between rancher Phil Canfield and Chief White Cloud's tribe. When Judge Allen arrives, he encounters Rufe Corby, one of Canfield's men, who tries to gauge the judge's sympathies. To Corby's dismay, Judge Allen indicates the facts seem to favor the Indians, explaining that a landslide changed Bitter Creek's course after the original treaty was signed, giving Canfield access to land that rightfully belongs to White Cloud's people. Understanding that the corrupt Canfield won't accept an unfavorable judgment, the Lone Ranger sends Tonto to Newton to investigate Canfield's plans while he rides ahead to protect the stage.
Days later, Canfield meets with Bert Buckman, the Indian agent he has already bribed, anxiously awaiting Corby's report. When Corby confirms that Judge Allen sides with the Indians, Canfield vows to take matters into his own hands, declaring he will not only secure the valuable land but drive every Indian from the territory, regardless of the law.
