I met Sierra while working with The Tatnuk Group as a hired life coach for NFL prospects at the Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama in 2023. She works with many athletes, teams, & organizations. Helping those in need of taking their performance to the next level. She is a reader, bookworm, and challenges the Dos Equis man for the most interesting person in the world. It's my pleasure to welcome her to the show for her extensive knowledge and experience.
Sierra Dimberg (she/her) is a Latina Clinical Sport Psychologist that owns Camelback Performance & Consulting, a private practice in the Phoenix, AZ area working with athletes. She has served as a Naval Officer/Clinical Psychologist in the U.S. Navy and has worked with numerous professional sport leagues (WNBA, NBA, NFL, & MLB) and in healthcare on mental health & performance. She is also a registered yoga teacher! She is passionate about women in sport and serves as a mentor to many in the field through various nonprofits.

We live for Monday! A good friend once said "same fight, different round."
The knowledge and influence I gain from books cannot be measured with a value. Here I share some of my recent reads and a few gems from those reads. Everyone should be able to come away with something from these actionable steps.
I hope this weeks quote gets you going as well as answering a listeners question.

It's Fast Friday!
Hustling and bustling through your day, things tend to happen quick. Sometimes those are excellent things and sometimes, not so excellent. We can't control what happens to us, but we do control our response.
I take time to talk about hitting the reset button when things just aren't going your way. Never let the stressors of your day dictate how you move from interaction to interaction.

I've known Arden since he was a jit. I knew he had something special to him. He loved football. His dad was a great player in his day and also a coach. It's no surprise that Arden has blazed his own path since leaving high school for Missouri and finding his was back to CU.
I remember sending Arden Oregon duck gear when I was in college and he would sport it no matter the size. He was drowning in the XL hoodies, gloves, and shirts I sent to him.
Arden has shaped himself not just into a great football player but a well rounded young man and above everything else, a leader.
Enjoy this guest appearance from the one and only Arden Walker.

Mondays don't wait for ANYONE! So we gotta hop out the bed and go get it.
I am a former athlete and I work and talk with many current and former athletes. From what I've seen, athletes take a step back from their social media once their careers are finished. Not as much posting, not as much visual activity, but they are still there.
They are trying to figure out who they are now without their sport that's defined them for a number of years.
This episode will pull back the layers of athlete transition as I encourage all athletes not to disappear once their playing career is finished or in limbo.

Kevin Heiberger MS, CSCS has been in the strength and conditioning field for over 20 years. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2009 with a Master of Science degree. He has worked at BYU (2015), University of Virginia (2016-2017), UCLA (2018-2021), and IMG Academy (2011-2015 & 2022-Present). Prior to those positions, Kevin interned and or volunteered at University of North Texas, University of South Florida, and Iowa State University. Working at IMG (first time around), Kevin worked under a Coach named Loren Seagrave, where he learned Speed Dynamics. Through his methods, we were able to change athletes' speed in games from running 19 mph to running 22-23 mph.
A great resource for student-athletes, professional athletes, parents of athletes, strength and conditioning coaches, trainers, and coaches of all levels.

Nate Costa grew up in the small rural town of Hilmar, Ca. A three-sport athlete in high school. Recruited to the University of Oregon to play QB for the Ducks. Nate had an injury-riddled career, but found ways to contribute to the steady rise of Oregon Football from 2006 to 2010. He coached elite levels of football at the collegiate and HS levels. With stops at Oregon, IMG Academy, UCLA and Nevada. Currently running the Launch Oregon fund for the University of Oregon Foundation where his team makes Seed investments in University of Oregon innovators. He is a devoted family man with two young daughters. He resides in Eugene, OR.
Nate was a beacon of light for me when I arrived at Oregon. There is not better person to study and emulate yourself after.
