Toon Along! Podcast

It's Monday and we invited Sunday over for some high flying, groin pounding action with some King Of The Hill. I remember watching this show on Sunday nights with an all star lineup of the Simpsons and Family Guy. King of The Hill has a nice spot in the lineup and adds a nice calm tone to a normally goofy and crazy genre and feel. With that said, get your propane and propane accessories ready to Toon Along!

Welcome to the Toon Along! Join me as I watch, play and review Cartoons, Movies, Video Games and TV Shows from the 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s as well as today, all while adding my personal perspective and opinions on the subject, so hop on as we take a ride back to the past for some deep memory driven entertainment on Toon Along!

This show has a special place in my heart, and not because it is one of the most iconic series in all of video games. It is because this is one of my earliest memories of watching cartoons in my life. I remember recording an afternoon block on YTV back in 1994 and with it came this episode. After all these years a few scenes still remain in my memory along with the blissful and stress free feeling of just sitting back and enjoying cartoons.

This is the kind of show that would just seem to fit in the same group as Ren and Stimpy or CatDog however after expecting it to be just as on par as those legendary shows it still falls short after all these years. I really wanted it to be a secret gem like Rocko's Modern Life was all those years ago, but now I find myself more disappointed in the long run. That being said, even after all the expectation and prerequisites I had for the show, Catscratch still deserves a watch and is still enjoyable on a Monday such as tonight.

Word has come to my ears about a new Transformers TV series on Netflix called, Transformers War For Cybertron Trilogy. I also heard that the third season would feature a brand new remake of the Beast Wars series, who can say no to that? So without further intro let's check out what could be and might be the best looking Transformers TV series we've ever seen!

For this 100th episode we are bringing it back to were it all started, with a two parter episode of ReBoot. One of the best episodes of the series, it feels appropriate for society's current state. If we don't want society to end up the way it might have like in this episode of ReBoot, we may need a modern day Phong to show us the way. For now we have ReBoot "Identity Crisis to do that for us.

The perfect show anytime of the week, The Jetsons have been bringing joy to our cartoon brains for generations. They can slide it in any time slot on any network and it still makes sense. This fine Sunday feels like the right time for me to give it a whirl, as I remember the show playing Sunday Mornings alongside the Flintstones and Rocky and Bullwinkle. Let's dive back into the retro future as we Toon Along!

Welcome back to another Sunday cartoon special, this week it's Bob's Burgers. I thought this show came out in the late 2000's but in fact it was 2011. My oh my how time flies. I still recall when the first episode aired on Global in Canada at the end of the animation block on Sunday night. It really felt like this show was not going to last very long and now 11 seasons in and a film on the way here we are. Boy it feels good getting old, so let's squeeze some Burgers and watch Boobs with Bob.

Doug is on the chopping block this week for another Toon Along! I take a look back as to why i never payed much attention to this show growing up, while most of my friends and classmates from elementary school loved the series. From Nickelodeon to Disney Doug has been tossed around a little bit, how well did it age well that's for you to decide.
