Psalm 46 trumpets a clarion call to trust, from the very beginning. The words "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble," set the tone for the entire psalm. Even in the midst of mess, chaos and confusion, God is our steadfast and reliable refuge. BUT he’s not an impersonal refuge. He desires a personal relationship with each of us. He is a personal God. That’s why I love the invitation in Psalm 46:10. "Be still and know that I am God."
