Speaking of tag, did y’all watch ‘The Floor is Lava’ on Netflix last year? Shit was wild. Btw, shout out to the 90s classic ‘American Gladiators’. The show was all the macho 90s era shit you needed for a Saturday morning loll. And they were def dabbling in that ❄️👀
Have y’all seen Ontario’s proposed reopening plan for schools in the fall? Masks are required indoors but no vax requirement, and assemblies, team sports, and recess are back. Interestingly, no thresholds set for outbreaks. 🤨
Reports have come out that the delta variant is as contagious as the chicken pox. Which is hilarious bc there’s a full generation kids who don’t know what the chicken pox are - why you ask? Bc they have been vaxxed for it (ironically) 💉
Big Dougie usually making waves, but not this time. Krista Ford was on social media this week on an anti-vax rant criticizing a government info pamphlet about Covid and the vax. You know there’s some trouble in the Ford house with this brilliant move by the daughter 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😁. Easy wasteman if the week for Krista Ford 🏆
We get that there is still some hesitancy among a certain block of the population, and that mixed messaging has definitely contributed to a lack of confidence in the government and the medical establishment in Canada. But the misinformation and opinion pieces swirling around online are just as, if not more, dangerous. Vax passports seem to be on the horizon along with a potential 4th wave, and the conversation is only getting trickier.🤌🏾🤌🏾
Finally, this week the GROAT, @kyle_lowry7, was traded to the Miami Heat. In a bittersweet way, I think we all knew it was coming, and looking back on a stellar 9 years, we couldn’t thank him enough. Arsy kicks us off with a surprise announcement… Mans caught a cold. These days you can’t be caught outside with a sniffle or a sneeze or you’ll catch a nasty mean-mug from all around. And in classic Arsy fashion, mans blames his nephew for the bug. 😷 Arsy’s rule for the kids: Know your role. My guy says kids gotta take unnecessary blame, give up the good seat when an elder walks in, and when it comes to video games - wait your turn (aka you aint playing till he’s done LOL).😂 When it comes to being sick + video games, nothing beats working through a video game when youre sick at home stuck on the couch. It was either that or you run your way through the daytime TV schedule - Price is right and then the gauntlet of soaps. Arsy recounts a tale of the miracle day a homie left a game at his crib and mans had a sick day.🙏🏾 Speaking of miracles, local news outlets reporting that Union station construction is finally complete. Bruh, we’ll believe it when we see it. That joint has been in perpetual construction mode for like 25+ years, yo. But for real though, what a relief. Next up that GO bus station next door and the whole complex above. Just when you though it was done…. 🚧🚅 A quick Olympic Games update, the Canadian women been holding it down major with all of Team Canada’s medals thus far being won by women. Swimming badass, Penny Oleksiak now earning a total of 6 medals becoming the most decorated Canadian olympian. In other olympic news, gymnastics GOAT, Simone Biles made the tough decision to drop out of the games, siting her need to prioritize mental health. Mad respect to her for the courage to come out with that and keep it real.🥇✊🏾 On the topic of games, mans felt nostalgic and went down a bit of a video game rabbit hole. Lala’s childhood was epitomized by linking with cousins at the grandparents house, renting some video games and R rated movies, and just going in all weekend. Mans discuss classics game titles going back through the NES, Super Nintendo, and N64 catalogues. From all the Donkey Kongs, OG Mario Bros, Double Dragon, to Castlevania, mans chop it up. Eid Mubarak to all the fandems! This year Arsy and fam were able to hit up Eid prayers at a big outdoor space in a field organized by the local Guyanese mosque. 🙏🏾📿. Arsy’s fam got treated to the OG halal fast food go-to - Popeyes Chicken 🍗. Lala used to run McDonald’s breakfast as the Eid morning treat. Y’all got some Eid traditions?
Eid-al-Adha, affectionately known as “goat Eid”, is the one that creeps up on you.. but it’s always a fun one. Things are a bit more relaxed here in the west, but back in Pakistan things are done a bit more traditionally. #ProducerTaus share a great childhood story that REALLY hit the spirit of Goat Eid, fr fr 🐐👀

Meanwhile back at Lala’s crib, mans are getting the cribbaz painted, and y’all know Lala be holding it down for the local small biz. Arsy jumps into some homie painting stories, with the one homie who would take jobs just to avoid his wife 😂. Then Lala follows it up with his first “Woodbridge experience”. 🤌🏾
Later, Mans discuss establishments that are/are not requiring vax proof before attending the space. Eg. some strip clubs downtown are asking for proof of vax, whereas others, like GoodLife Fitness, interestingly are NOT requiring it. Twitter definitely went in on Goodlife for that choice 😂
In that same vein, some countries and large corporations are adjusting their stance on vax’d travellers. A couple this week reportedly had to cancel their honeymoon because they had mixed vaccines. Royal Caribbean cruise lines took a similar stance not allowing those with mixed vaccines, because the WHO has not made a definitive declaration on vaccine mixing. 💉

Fresh off a red eye flight, Lala touched back down in the 6ix. Mans got stuck with an aisle seat in the emergency exit row. Ya, extra leg room, but mans need that window seat to lean on and contemplate life while riding the clouds. Which seat y’all more down for, aisle or window? ✈️
Coles notes from Lala’s trip to Van (hot take 🚨) - downtown Van is a bootleg version of downtown Tdot. That said, Whistler is incredible and is everything that Blue Mountain wishes to be. 🏔⛰
More importantly, step 3 of Ontario’s reopening plan is finally upon us. Mans break down all the newly lifted restrictions and what’s allowed. Y’all ready to dine at a restaurant INDOORs for the first time in 15 months?! Arsy even more excited for the skrippers opening up 😏💃🏽
Mans are def excited to have the barbershops open. Arsy hit up a PK homies wedding last weekend and had to prep with fresh cut, but in the midst learned to go back to a classic styling product - dippitydoo 😮. With the wedding weekend passed, Arsy went down memory lane with with some PK elementary school stories.
Shout out to drone mans in LA, bc the boy @champagnepapi got baited taking that sweety moms with a phatty to a special dinner in the middle of Dodgers stadium. Major flex btw 👏🏾👏🏾. Meanwhile, Scarborough’s own, @theWeeknd allegedly dating Angelina Jolie 🤭. Toronto mans really doing it up big out here eh?!
On the vax front, WHO released a statement regarding mixing vax brands, and ppl are stressed. Mixed messaging from public health organizations coupled with social media can add fuel to a misinformation fire. Mans def think y’all should go read the full story on that. Also lots of new discussions on vaxes being mandated at certain places in the province 💉.
In a big weekend of sport, the footy 🐐 Leo Messi finally got his international cup after winning the Copa America 🏆🇦🇷. Back across the pond, England lost to Italy in the Euro 2020 final that went to penalty kicks. It was a tough way to lose, but the racism that flowed out of England after the loss was absolutely disgraceful. Congrats to Italy on a great tournament. Woodbridge was BUMPIN after that win 🇮🇹🏆

Live from the Wild West, your boy Lala choppin it up in VanCity… in a heat wave. Parts of BC hit Canadian heat records, reaching 49.6 C. 🌡🌞 Outside was legit feeling like an oven. Global warming is real y’all.
Shit got so dire, Lala had to check out of the Airbnb early to go stay with the fam at a blueberry farm out in Delta, BC. Speaking of which, special shout out to @Didarberryfarm with the best blueberries in BC. Hit them up and go pick your own fresh blueberries, or even take your shorty for a likkle date ting. Blueberry szn is running all summer, so hit them up ASAP 🫐👍🏾
All the while, Arsy and #ProducerTaus been robbing Lala’s crib, and oblivious Lala been foodie’ing it up making the rounds on a BC food tour. Among the many dinners, a Bourdain fav - Vij’s, for Indian food with a fusion twist @eatdrinkvijs. Mans also ventured out to Kelowna for an evening at Mission Hill Family Estate. Food scene out west been legit 👌🏾
Then, Arsy gives Lala an update on what’s been happening at home. Raves under the Gardner?! What is happening out here loll?? At this point, people are over it and are doing what they want, and the city is just turning a blind eye. Watch out for that delta variant tho 😬
Patio szn must be in full effect. Dunkno those street side patios are lit right now. Rendezviews seems to be a perfectly situated spot in the middle of DT, and Arsy hit it up to watch Italy v Belgium. Arsy tells the tale we’ve all experienced with typical bipolar southern Ontario weather hitting the scene. These random hail storms are wild. ⛈🌤
Summer sports consumption has been ultra lit this past stretch. Euro 2020 has been great to watch, and lots of well fought matches leading up to the semis this past week. The final is all set up now for an Italy v England battle going down at Wembley. Also in the Copa America final, Brazil v Argentina. Big wknd ahead! ⚽️🏆
NBA finals all set now too, with the Milwaukee Bucks without a full strength Greek freak (poppa Arsy partially responsible) facing the CP3 and the Phoenix Suns 🏀. And lastly in the NHL Stanley Cup finals, Montreal v Tampa Bay. Some of y’all be routing for the ‘Canadian team’, but Lala is a hater and that sh*t don’t fly with him. Tampa bout to shut the Habs down for a back to back win - Let’s go! 🏒🥅

Arsy has a problematic obsession with shoehorns. In an unexpected turn of an intro, Arsy divulges his propensity to gather shoehorns from any and everywhere. Weird flex, but ok 😂
Why is brown time a thing? Arsy attempts to justify it with a variety of theories, like last minute bladder issues. Mans talk it through and conclude that lateness for brown ppl is genetic lol 🕰
What’s your go-to monopoly piece? Mans discuss the classic board games, Monopoly and Risk, cheaters, and board game beef that always pops off btwn fam and friends. 🎲
Hospitality tag, neighbourhood edition, is upon Lala’s family. His parents moved to a new house and neighbours all over the street have been stopping by with cards and flowers, welcoming them to the neighbourhood. Brown hospitality is kicking in and you know all these white neighbours are getting samosas 😂
Arsys family are fully trying to get him hitched. Even funnier, if you’re not married by a certain age, some brown parents think you’re either a virgin, or gay 😆. They also never have ‘the talk’ with their kids at a young age, meanwhile smashcapades are gwanin lolll. Mans get into a long segment to unpack the expectations of brown families around marriage, weddings, and cultural/religious issues when marrying outside of your own, amongst many others. The pressures are heavy and it comes in many forms.
