Can we learn from elite and professional swimmers in our sport? I believe we can! And today's guest on Torpedo Swimtalk Podcast shares many insights from that very vantage point.
As Janelle Elford, she shared in the dominance of Australian middle distance freestyler's of the late 80's and early 90's, culminating in a gold, silver and bronze medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland. As Janelle Pallister, she coaches alongside Michael Bohl on the Gold Coast working with the high performance swimmers from Griffith University - the likes of Emma McKeon, Kaylee McKeown and Mack Horton to name a few - and is currently on the Swimming Australia coaching team in Birmingham for these Commonwealth Games. She is also mother and coach of up and coming Australian swimmer Lani Pallister, who scored a bronze in the 1500m in Budapest last month.
So as you can see, Janelle has a truckload of experience to share with us from a swimming and coaching point of view. She is humble, down to earth and I have a feeling the swimmers she works with admire her perspective.
