Today's guest is triple Olympic Gold Medallist and the first man to break 50 secs in the 100m freestyle, International Hall of Fame Swimmer - Jim Montgomery.
It was a delight chatting to Jim and talking about his Olympic experience; Why he choose to train under the "father" of swimming Doc Counsilman at Indiana University and the day a 100m freestyle race changed his life. What kind of mindset did he take into swimming? What type of training did he do? and What inspired him to start a Masters Swim program in Dallas, Texas?
Jim also has a handy 14 FINA Masters World Championships to add to accomplishments! He chats about why he has had to give up pool swimming, but in doing so discovered open water swimming. He still coaches masters swimmers and owns a swim school in Dallas. The lucky swimmers he comes into contact with, benefit from his wealth of knowledge.
"Your potential is limited by your imagination and the commitment you are willing to make"
Jim Montgomery.
