Tortellini at Noon

This week we’re beginning a shortened theme month of Murder Mystery films, and what better way to start off then with an adaptation of one of the genre’s greatest writers Agatha Christie’s book Murder on the Orient Express. Directed and starring Kenneth Branagh, the film follows Poirot, a world-renowned detective, as he seeks to solve a murder on the famous trans-European train in the 1930s. With great performances for an ensemble cast consisting of Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley this film will keep you guessing until the very end.

This week Don picked the pilot of the 2001 animated series Justice League. He claimed that it would be a short podcast but we all should know that isn’t the case when superheros and Don are involved. I have a bad feeling about this! Oh boy, in this special episode of Tortellini at Noon, Zach and Don went to see the final entry in the Skywalker Saga Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Both having complete opposite opinions about the sequel trilogy and specifically The Last Jedi they went into this with different perspectives and man oh man do they have lots to say about it. JJ Abram’s returns to finish the trilogy with Chris Terrio co-writing in a story with the surviving Resistance facing the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle commences. Come join our nearly 2 hour discussion.

The story of this is fairly simple Arthur wants to have the perfect christmas but of course things don’t go as planned, but that may be for the best. While we don’t talk much about the plot we do discuss nostalgia and when something crosses the line to become nostalgia. Come join us!!
