Total Soccer Show: USMNT, Champions League, EPL, and more ...

Taylor talks to The Athletic's Joe Lowery about his three favorite topics: the US U20 national team, the senior US mens national team, and Major League Soccer. The amount of knowledge in his brain is legitimately absurd.

For the U20s, we focus on realistic expectations for an incredibly talented squad, who might start where, and whether or not Alex Mendez has the best left foot in the US player pool.

After that, we take a look at some of the teams that are having strong seasons so far in Major League Soccer and some... that are not. We use the patented thumbs up/down method to get to the bottom of things, and also take a moment to sing the praises of Bob Bradley and DaMarcus Beasley.

Lastly, there's some Gold Cup roster conversation. Who is Joe most excited to see and what's his preferred starting lineup if the US were to make it to the final.

Taylor talks to Grant Wahl about the many projects he has in the works.

Up first, they go deep on Grant's new podcast "Throwback," which takes an in-depth look at the many people involved in the USA's successful run at the 1991 World Cup. Subscribe to Throwback wherever you get your podcasts!

They also discuss Vincent Kompany's transition to management. Grant interviewed Kompany for a chapter in his book "Masters of Modern Soccer" and shares insight from their many interviews.

After that, Grant previews his new video series "Exploring Planet Futbol." In Part I, he travels around Germany to interview four Americans already involved in the Bundesliga: Chris Richards, Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic. Who is most like to become a national team leader, how good of a driver is McKennie, and what does Pulisic order off-menu at restaurants? All that and more!

Daryl and Taylor discuss Gregg Berhalter's preliminary 40-player roster for the 2019 Gold Cup. Who missed out? Who are the surprises?  Where does Tyler Boyd fit into the equation? All that and much more!

After that, it's on to listener questions...

1) If you could add 1 player from the 1994 USA World Cup squad to the current USMNT roster, who would it be?

2) Analyzing yet another alternative to penalties

3) Who is the best player in the world who doesn’t play in a country’s top league/ligue/lig?

4) How important is it to know the history of soccer?

5) Why did Chelsea fly to America to play a "pre-season friendly" with the New England Revolution between their final Premier League game and the Europa League final?

Ryan and Taylor break down the many big stories from this past weekend, including Manchester City destroying Watford in the FA Cup (though Daryl has a theory about what could have been), Bayern Munich finally claim Bundesliga honors (yet again), and Lyon trounces Barcelona to win the Women's Champions League (yet again).

Plus, what might happen to some big name players and big name managers for some of Europe's top clubs? We have speculation!

Ryan and Taylor spend most of the weekend in the Premier League as they discuss City's second straight title, as well as all the many, many reasons why Liverpool fans should be feeling optimistic. Less so for Manchester United fans: who needs to go, who should come in, and what's really going on at the club? We (mostly Taylor) have thoughts.

There's also a new manager for Schalke, a to-the-wire title race in the Bundesliga, Championship playoffs, and terrible Juventus jerseys!
