Mathieu van der Poel finally ended his long draught of not winning a stage at the Tour de France and the added bonus was taking the yellow jersey again from team mate Jasper Philipsen keeping the jersey in the team with Tadej Pogacar finishing second and already in second place in GC.

Minor conflict with Biniam Girmay and Jonathan Milan after the intermediate sprint but it was resolved.
