Stage 18 was the exclamation point on one of the most exciting Tour de France’s this century. Jonas Vingegaard all but extinguished Tadej Pogacar’s hopes of victory in Paris. Vingegaard broke away half-way up the Hautacam to claim his second mountaintop stage win, with the Pog a further minute down. And so we head into the penultimate stage, the final TT, and then onto Paris. Which is the perfect transition to perhaps the biggest story in Pro Cycling at the moment, the Grand Départ of the Tour de Femmes this weekend. We are joined by a rider taking part in the very first Tour de Femme, and one of Australia’s top cyclists, Anya Louw. Previously of ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast, Anya has followed in the footsteps of her partner, Alex Bogna, is blazing into world cycling in 2022. Anya has just been signed by AG Insurance - NXTG, and will be a vital part of the teams ambitions to secure stage victories and the White Jersey in Paris. We discuss the Tour, the developments in female cycling recently, and how there is so much more to be done.
