Town Meeting, a Gilmore Girls Rewatch Podcast

Created by Emily, Lisa, and Sandra

We have what I think is a universally loved episode this week! But, first things first, did you know Kirk has a girlfriend? We finally meet Gil, who is amazing! Kirk is just so...Kirk this week, and it is also amazing. Sookie is waaaay to nice and happy this episode for being 40+ weeks pregnant, Andrew kinda sucks, and for the first time in a long time, we all have a different person in mind for towns person of the week. Join us this week for the episode discussion of The Festival of Living Art!

Books Mentioned:

The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Other Stories by Ernest Hemingway

The Glitter Plan by Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor

Cocktail parties and canapes obsolete? Not if Lorelai and Sookie are catering! Unfortunately, Jason has other plans. And of course, we have Rory's infamous study tree. Jason may be off to a rocky start this episode, but we're all excited for Lulu's first appearance!

Are you a Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, or Charlotte? I'll bet you can't guess our references this week! At least, one of them. Host Emily cannot say Pamplona, but she does start to mispronounce someone else's name! Lisa gives a shoutout to the Gilmore Girl costumers and the amount of work that goes into such a job for a show or movie, and we have a bit of an explanation behind names and pronunciations. Join us this week for the bits!

Join us this week as we talk all about awkward dates (even sharing some of our own!). Also in this episode: a serious debate on an outfit, the definition of "elocution", and a small cameo from a previous host!

Where are the Gilmore grandparents this week? We have no Friday night dinner! We still have some good info at least. Sandra fills us in on a reference and a guest star, Emily gushes over a band, and Lisa details us on the wonderful world of teenage marriage in the aughts. Join us this week for the bits!

Happy New Year!! And we start off the year with kind of a celebration episode? There is a wedding, just not necessarily one we want to watch. It's Dean and Lindsey's wedding this week! But of course, the biggest event of this episode, is that Rory CUT HER HAIR!!! How could she?!?!?! We do have some very valuable life lessons in this episode. Opening a business is expensive, and dying your hair damages it. You are welcome. We do have a lovely matchy matchy outfit, some Luke retcon discussion, we recap our own bachelor/bachelorette party experiences, and of course, the age old question of chicken or beef? Join us this week for the episode discussion!

"Grandma broke into my dorm and redid the entire common room in $25,000 worth of furniture..."

Rory and Lorelai are officially trying life on their own (sort of) and we're discussing how they handle stealth dorm redecoration, last minute party planning jobs and friends' unfortunately (and sometimes fortunately) timed meltdowns.
