TPM019 - Active Protection System (feat. Evgeni Golov)

2003 stellte IBM mit dem Active Protection System eine Technik vor, die Festplatten vor Fallschäden schützt. Durch kontinuierliche Überwachung der Notebookposition erlaubt es diese Stürze vorab zu erkennen und fatale Headcrashes zu vermeiden. Zusammen mit Evgeni Golov, dem langjährigen Maintainer der Linux-Implementation, besprechen wir die technischen Details der tp_smapi- und hdapsd-Projekte. Diese haben nicht nur einen praktischen Nutzen sondern laden auch zu kreativen Einsatzzwecken ein.

Windows 95 und DirectX feiern 30-jähriges Bestehen. Lenovo hat mit dem P1 Gen 8, P16 Gen 3 und T16g Gen 3 neue leistungsfähige ThinkPads vorgestellt.
