Tracing Owls

Fortean librarian Cole Herrold presents the most comprehensive research into the Vegetable Man, or rather the man of mystery behind this case: Jennings Frederick.

We uncover an intricate contactee story hidden under all our noses for decades! Was this tale just a silly hoax by Gray Barker, was it his own erotic fan fiction, or was it rather a forgotten tale of high strangeness from an unsung Fortean icon?

Vampiric plant creatures, demonic imps, psychic UFO communications, alien abduction, secret NASA UFO programs and even the dreaded Men in Black, this episode has it all!

Will we be able to piece it all together without a comprehensible timeline? Probably not, but at least we are laying the foundations for future research!

Willow from The Nonsense Bazaar pulls us into the world of starseeds and hypnofetishists, sharing personal experiences mingling in both communities, how these communities provide a sense of belonging and normality to those who feel ostracized from humanity, and how these communities may actually empower neurodivergent individuals!

Yes guys, this is a very thoughtful, heartwarming and important episode ❤️

On the other side however, Willow helps explain the ethical issues of utilizing hypnosis in alien abduction research, as well as its use in implanting false memories or even predatory behavior.

Postman Shibble is forced to navigate a minefield of creatures which convey cultural turmoil, colonial racism and sexual taboo! Controversial creatures he unintentionally covered on his own show, with the help of my puppeteering from the shadows! 🤣

We discuss Chupacabra, Popobawa, Pishtaco and Mamlambo: Monsters spawned from contemporary anxieties of foreign societies, locally used as cultural or linguistic memes. Societal boogeymen who cross national borders to find themselves bastardized as cryptids by Western society.

Why is cultural imperialism still prevalent in the cryptid world? We are just white dudes who have no fuckin' clue!... so we scrap this topic and go off bastardizing our favorite movie monsters!

Huge THANK YOU!!! to Shibble from Uncle Monster's Spooky Time Fright Hour for spraining his ankles tap-dancing around the questionable issues I threw at him! Thankfully, he is not the editor of this podcast, so everything remained as is in all its hilarity! 🤣

Donut wizard AP Strange discusses his uncanny ability of book conjuring! Weird synchronistic events which allowed him to manifest a vast library of rare and antique Fortean titles.

We discuss the role of books as talismanic objects, vectors which allow readers to imprint their essence or even channel into a collective realm! Discussed are the strange lives of some of the greatest Fortean authors: Colin Wilson, Allen Greenfield, Fredrick William Holiday and even Trevor James Constable.

Intending to shatter your illusion of "Alien", I address humanity's perpetual tendency to hop onto the extraterrestrial explanation for a plethora of phenomena which may have a more Earthly, or even human, origin!

Why do we assume crop circles are made by aliens, when they appear on freakin crops...on the ground!? Why do we look up to the stars to show us illusions of our future potential? And why do we tend to seek higher intelligence out there, when it is already here with us?

The 1953 Martian Monkey Hoax: at the time Georgia's most enduring unsolved mystery! This scandal grabbed the imagination of international newspapers, and the poor judgement of bad veterinarians, sparking the annoyed granddaddy of Georgian forensic science himself to crack the case within just a few hours!

Nevertheless, this odd story is now forever catalogued within the annals of Georgian forensic history via a pickled-up monkey carcass, safely tucked away in a so-called museum of the GBI crime lab.

Landen joins to further dissect this 70-year-old corpse and share his own encounters with it at his former job! Yes, whenever we talk small-town museums or rotting corpses, Landen is always eager to hop onboard!

Along the way he further demolishes our sensibilities by discussing autopsies of beloved pets, a lethally vicious dog attack case, cattle mutilation and how to determine whether Chupacabra victims are actually drained of blood! But most disturbing of all, we get hungry by the end and start talking food again...

Huge THANK YOU!!! to Landen from Autopsy. Podcast for consistently fucking my show over by bringing up disturbing stuff nobody ever wanted to know! I "totally" did not ask for any of this beforehand 🤣

Inspired by a dear fan, and my amazing experience guesting on Seriah's show, I decide to end the month expressing gratitude towards my listeners, guests and everyone who had me guest on their own shows!

We end September with 15 incredible episodes! Such a monumental month for my podcast, and an amazing experience collaborating with friends and idols alike.

Along the way I keep losing my train of thought and go into a discussion about the role of credibility in the paraweird field, whether we should be seeking it, or rather should we just allow ourselves to be taken by the stream of high strangeness and embrace the fuckuppery!

======================

Huge THANK YOU!!! to Seriah of Where Did the Road Go? for having me guest on his show and share cool new perspectives with a larger audience! You may listen to the episode HERE

Sex magick researcher and all around paraweirdo Stephanie Quick introduces us to the basics of establishing spicy relationships with the living, dead, undead and otherwise discarnate!

Erotic encounters with otherworldly entities have been a staple of folklore for millennia, and today Steph informs us of their significance in shamanic initiation and transference of forbidden knowledge.

As this process is oftentimes very... problematic, I quickly chicken out and deviate to more fun topics: tantric pooping, synchronistic dirty messages and UFOs which emerge out of cosmic buttholes! Steph inserts more sex magick philosophy whenever she can. Sexual energy is everywhere and we just can't escape it!

Weirdo artist Cassie openly shares the role cryptids had in transforming her life!

Thanks to her wild imagination, she was able to recover from a troubled past and now dedicates her free time to the crafty and artsy side of cryptids, oftentimes in the most... peculiar ways. Frogman plumbers, Wendigo restaurants, bikini Braxxie, even aliens with donut sprinkle eyes!

Apart from her strange artistic endeavors, Cassie also discusses her own investigation into a haunted barn, featured in this month's issue of Paranormality Magazine, as well as her son's encounter with a 3-legged walrus cryptid! Might this be another sighting of the Enfield Horror???

======================

Huge THANK YOU!!! to Cassie Marozsan for her openness and bravery in sharing her troubled past with us! It was an insightful experience hearing how art and cryptids may sometimes even save people's lives 🧡

Ghostgirl (formerly Horsegirl) Kat returns to share her personal experiences: A ghost encounter, potential psychokinetic powers, a phantom hatman, exploding head syndrome and even a Bigfoot sighting at a ski resort!

Along the way we try to piece together the meaning behind these events and deviate into discussions about... horses! Horse mediumship, empathic connections with horses, horse whispering and horses as carriers of souls!

Well, we also talk about a lot of other paranormal shenanigans. Even though Kat is a skeptic, her thrill seeking nature drives her to participate in ghost tours and embrace the fun of keeping an open mind! I also slip in the Philip Experiment story as Kat is Canadian, eh!

Huge THANK YOU!!! to Katrina for sharing her personal experiences and openly brainstorming possible explanations!
