I discuss and narrate the Serbian epic poem "The Walling of Skadar", the first documented folkloric account of the Legend of Rozafa Castle, in which a woman was walled into the castle as a sacrifice to appease a mischievous fairy.
Yup, Serbian folklore is pretty disturbing. Nonetheless, the poem is regarded as one of the most touching pieces of Serbian epic literature and has even been adapted by the Brothers Grimm!
Thankfully, we have since then mastered our architectural skills and are no longer plagued by building-demolishing fairies. The objectification of our women is yet to be demolished though.
