Transcending boundaries, transcending the norms of conventional radio, and transporting the listener sonically on a truly unique journey into freeform radio is what I try to offer each week on TRANSMUSIC AIRWAVES and it is, in part, the reason why I named this program what it is. If you are a regular listener you probably understand why I organize each show the way I do and what elements you can expect from me each week. New releases, jazz,international sounds, progressive rock, spoken word, plus several 'covers,' obscure artists from the 'vault,' and occasional comedy and motion picture dialogue are all part of the equation.
On this week's show (Episode #381) there's plenty of new releases including songs by SPARKS, FIONA APPLE, PERE UBU, BADLY DRAWN BOY, and STEPHEN MALKMUS all during the first set while surrounded by earlier tracks from LAIKA and JACK LANCASTER & ROBIN LUMLEY'S 'Marscape' album. HARVEY GOLD, BOB DYLAN, and MAKAYA MCCRAVEN all add their current offerings to the second set and are accompanied by vintage JERRY GARCIA, THE SLITS (covering 'Heard It Through The Grapevine'), spoken word from JOHN GIORNO, and TV music from 50's lounge pioneer ROBERT STAPLES.
