Among Dr. Amy's specialties is working with parents and professionals to help create resilient children and thriving families, guiding them to heal their stress and trauma through connected relationships. Her experience includes serving as a statewide trainer for the Oregon Department of Human Services and subject matter expert to promote child wellness in pediatric settings on behalf of the Children's Health Alliance. Her current work is promoting resilience within pediatric medical homes and school systems through partnership and collaboration.

Her podcast, The Most Important Medicine, is where physicians and healthcare professionals meet to discuss what trauma is and how it presents in primary care. Discussions center around how to respond to and mitigate trauma by building resilience and other buffering mechanisms that address adversity and build connection. Physicians and healthcare providers tell their stories about how to bring humanness into medicine and transform how we think about medicine through relational leadership, early relational health, and connection.

When she’s not working to promote family resilience, you can find Dr. Amy with her family on their small hobby farm in Newberg, Oregon.
