A powerful hurricane in the Pacific is forcing cruise ships to change their itineraries, leaving thousands of passengers with vacations that look very different from what they originally booked.

Royal Caribbean has canceled three destinations on one sailing, Virgin Voyages has completely rewritten another itinerary, and we're keeping an eye on the continuing storm threat along Mexico's Pacific coast.

We've also got a troubling new safety investigation involving a fatal accident aboard a P&O cruise ship, some exciting news from Princess Cruises, and several additional stories in our Quick News Roundup.

We have a major cruise-industry shakeup this morning. Carnival Corporation is moving two well-known ships between three of its brands. P&O Cruises’ Arcadia is headed to Holland America Line, while Cunard’s Queen Anne will move to P&O Cruises in 2029.

We’re also watching a developing tropical system in the Gulf that is forecast to strengthen quickly, a Carnival Spirit cruise that will start a day late, and several more stories in today’s Quick News Roundup.

Our biggest story remains the powerful nor’easter disrupting cruises along the East Coast. Vision of the Seas has headed south instead of north, Carnival Venezia has seen schedule changes, and rough Atlantic conditions are affecting cruise travel throughout the region.

Meanwhile, Icon of the Seas will spend tonight at PortMiami before beginning its cruise Sunday, Hurricane Nolo is threatening Hawaii travel, and Carnival passengers aboard five ships will see the return of full in-person safety briefings this weekend.

If you’re traveling this weekend, particularly from an East Coast cruise port or anywhere in Hawaii, check directly with your cruise line or airline before leaving home.

The MSC Cruises Grande Prémio de Portugal takes place June 18–20 at Portimão, followed by the MSC Cruises Belgian Grand Prix July 23–25 at legendary Spa-Francorchamps. Formula 1 then returns to Türkiye October 1–3 for the MSC Cruises Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park.

The three title sponsorships mark the second consecutive year MSC Cruises has sponsored three Formula 1 races. The company's global partnership with Formula 1 began in 2022 and currently extends through 2030.

The 2027 Formula 1 calendar features 24 Grands Prix across 22 countries and 10 Sprint events.
