I decided to visit Stanley Park today, take a walk, and give you a picture of this place. But I underestimated its size a bit. So, I quickly step off the trail and sit on a bench by the lake. The rays of the setting sun cheerfully reflect off the water’s surface right into my eyes.  

Let me quickly share what I came across.  

I got here from downtown on trolleybus 19.  

The sun was shining. To complete the picture, it started raining. So, the sun is shining, rain is falling. Beautiful. On one side, there are skyscrapers; on the other, the Vancouver Rowing Club greets you with its charming view at the park's entrance.  

The poet Robert Burns and the park’s founder, Lord Stanley—well, their monuments—continue to welcome you.  

Every step here offers some interesting detail. Lots of trees. You remember it’s a park, right? The trees are tall. But a few of them are lying fallen, blocking the paths. Obviously, yesterday’s wind had its way.  

Still, the fruity smell in the air shows that people here aren’t easily scared off;

 they’ve come to enjoy some tasty treats fresh off the fire.

By the way, the trolleybus turnaround is located deep inside the park.  

For history enthusiasts, there’s a stele dedicated to Japanese soldiers who participated in World War I. People are everywhere

—sometimes running.  

Gravel paths can lead you into dense greenery, where even the birds seem to relax and start singing, 

so you might overhear them.  

And in the heart of the greenery lies Beaver Lake. 

Well, it’s supposed to be a lake. 

It could be one if it weren’t overgrown with grass.

 And I didn’t meet any beavers there. Mostly, it was people.

 And a couple of squirrels with photographers.  

And that’s just a small part of the park. Around it, along the water, there’s a promenade. I’ve been there before. Overall, it’s a great place to connect—with nature, with friends, or with yourself.  

Either way, it’s worthwhile.

So, today I decided to make my first episode on Vancouver's 100 places worth visiting. And it is the Vancouver Science Centre.  

I chose it because it was not far from my location on that day.  

Nearby is a Metro Station on the Expo Line, Science Centre. So, there will be no problems with getting there.  

The iconic building is a spherical structure made up of many connected triangles. Maybe they are glass, but at least they reflect. On top, this big ball is covered with many connected pipes, which serve as some kind of reinforcement to hold the structure together.  

Inside this building, there are paid tours. I postponed that for the next time. This will be another reason, if you're interested, to subscribe to my episodes.  

In front of the main entrance to this ball-shaped building, you can see a monument of two men sitting. 

Then, as you go around, you encounter a mini-exhibit of various water devices like different valves and culverts. Behind the ball building, there are two monuments made from recycled materials, a chime wall and a dragon.  

And then, there is a fenced-off mini park that is not accessible to visitors.  

Ah, I almost forgot. 

This Science World is next to the water.

There, you can see people wishing to paddle in kayaks.  

Also, in front of the entrance to the Science World, there is an attraction with falling balls that set off a whole maze with different sound effects. It attracts many young visitors.  

In general, this place is quite popular. There are always a lot of people, especially with children.  

Nearby, there is an operational children's playground.

Back to the North.

Perhaps, dear reader, you're wondering why I even set off on such a distant journey. Well, because it's fun, amusing, exciting, and intriguing. At times, circumstances may seem to corner you, but in the end, you always emerge victorious from any situation.

And all of this is generously gifted to you by the Universe, free of charge. You just have to be ready to accept the gifts you'll find everywhere in our shared home called planet Earth. The key to it all is a positive attitude.

With this positive mood, I left my hostel one morning while staying in Johor. My goal was to get as close as possible to Singapore. I didn't have a visa, but I still wanted to take a look, you know? I found the approximate entry point on the internet — the Johor Bahru City Square shopping mall. I approached it. But a busy road separated me from the entrance to Singapore. Seeing my predicament, a kind-hearted young Malaysian gave me a tip on what to do. It turned out, I just needed to cross the road. Simple, right? I just didn’t figure it out on my own. However, the guy wasn’t entirely altruistic — he asked for lunch at the nearby KFC in exchange for his tip. Clearly, he has a knack for business! You won't be bored on your journey.

But as I tried to approach Singapore, another challenge arose — making sure I didn’t accidentally cross the border without noticing. After all, I had no visa, and you know how borders are these days. Luckily, I ran into two Malaysian border guards checking documents. So, Singapore will have to wait until next time.

On a journey, you can get an energizing boost even from a simple conversation at a street restaurant. Thankfully, there were plenty of them near my hostel. At first, I had the idea of diving deeper into Malaysian cuisine. I walked into the first place I came across, but it didn’t impress me for some reason. Luckily, just a few meters away, there was another one. What I liked about it was the menu — I could think ahead about what to order. But as I realized, I’m not much of a gourmet and wasn’t keen on trying unfamiliar dishes. I stuck with something familiar — rice. A traditional Malaysian dish, Nasi Lemak, with a mound of rice, pieces of boiled egg, and cucumber slices. The women working in the kitchen seemed to be watching me. It felt odd to be the center of attention just by being among Malaysians. But by the next day, when I returned, the owner himself greeted me, and I settled the bill with him directly, exchanging words of gratitude. Ordinary events took on an extraordinary and vibrant hue from meeting new people, discovering a new culture, and the joy of pleasant interactions. A truly motivating experience.

During my first days in Johor, I didn’t manage to visit the bustling street food spots in the city center. To be honest, I wasn't used to them. But on the last evening before leaving, I decided to dive in and chose one of the spots located just off the main street, Jalan Wong Ah Fook. It felt unusual — I spent a long time deciding what to order until a woman came to my aid, probably to speed up the process. She happened to be Indonesian. The evening went well; we chatted, and she showed me her photos from Indonesia. I shared a bit about myself too. So, you can always find conversation on your travels, no matter your usual habits from everyday life.

Every big city has its tourist attractions, and Johor Bahru is no exception. I visited Skyscape, a skyscraper with an observation deck offering views of Singapore. It was wonderful — I liked the group I was with (all from East Asia) and Singapore, even from afar. But what left the biggest impression on me was … a virtual reality headset experience. Yes, you heard that right. It was part of their program — a few minutes of roller coaster rides in virtual reality. I never thought that something purely visual could literally knock you off your feet.

As I see it now, that initial period when I accepted in my consciousness that I could and would make my journey to the southernmost point of Eurasia, when I believed in it, when this event became real for me, this moment in time became a kind of catapult that triggered the entire subsequent course of events. And everything that fell into the trajectory of this catapult began to turn around and synchronize according to this purposeful flow of events. Including myself, when sometimes I began to have doubts, I always turned in the right direction. 

This power of the initial decision attracted the right actions at every single moment, helped me to make the right choice (as it turned out later, although it was not obvious to me at the time) in time.

On the day I planned to leave the town where I was staying, the first challenge I encountered was needing to change my transportation to the nearest railway station. A well-known online taxi service misled me by showing available cars nearby, but as I later discovered, the service didn't work in that area at all.

A traditional taxi helped out. I also see the manifestation of the Law of Attraction in the ease of changing the course of action. Because even if it may seem small, our lives are actually made up of such small events. Each of such links in my journey supported the whole big journey.

The next one was a train stop due to a power outage halfway to the airport in the Polish capital, Warsaw. The good amount of time I had came to my rescue. But—and here I make a significant pause—the decisive moment was probably the test of my strength just before boarding the plane in Warsaw for Doha, the capital of Qatar. To convey my emotions closely, I will describe this moment in more detail.

I arrived at Warsaw Chopin Airport with a few hours to spare. I spent my time working out my itinerary for the first few days in Malaysia. The boarding gate opened only an hour before the flight departed, and after a while, the flight status changed to 'boarding.'  Airport staff began checking boarding passes and documents. To say that I was unpleasantly surprised when my boarding pass failed the automatic check is an understatement. I started to panic inside (I laugh now when I think about it). The employees at the counter started asking me where I was going. And it turned out, as they said, that because I didn't have a return ticket from Malaysia, they wouldn't be able to let me on board. I was in shock. I already passed the border control. They would not let me back into Poland because my visa-free days had long since expired. There was half an hour left before the flight, fifteen minutes before the official closing of boarding. My state changed to despair. The only way to get on board was to buy a ticket from Malaysia to anywhere online. With some remnants of my sanity, I managed to choose a destination - Thailand. The Air Asia application on my smartphone stubbornly refused to proceed to the payment stage, and the employee, when I begged him to help, said that he was not authorized to do so. The minutes ticked by inexorably. I begged to be let on board, promised to buy a ticket later, but it didn't change anything. My hands were already shaking. An announcement was made that the last late passengers were invited, and I still had no result.

I made up my mind, come what may. And then I remembered the Chrome browser, which had been working for me with the least amount of errors until then. The payment process began to go through stage by stage, and again hung on the final step. I started shaking again. But at some point, I somehow abstracted myself from all the events that were happening around me and inside me and focused on finding out why the payment was not working. And I realized that I was repeatedly entering the wrong bank card pin.
