We’ll continue to explore how Jesus compared believers to salt and discover that in those days, when salt had lost its savor—or lost its potential property to bring flavor—they would take it and throw it out in the road for people to walk on it.  And today Pastor Ford will explain what Jesus meant when He compared certain believers to savorless salt.

Why would the Apostle Paul want to remind those who follow Christ about the mistakes that the Children of Israel made?  Pastor Ford will explain that this passage is for our example.  So, Paul gives us an illustration and with it, he gives us some instruction.  He wanted to convey a warning that was designed to change our Christan walk.

The example that the Apostle Paul gives us in 1 Corinthians 10, shows us clearly that the Children of Israel disobeyed and rebelled against God.  And Pastor Ford will point out that their rebellion actually started in their minds and then it was set into motion.  It started with their attitudes and then their attitudes became actions.

As we continue to look at the description the Apostle Paul gives us of the mistakes the Children of Israel made by not obeying God, Pastor Ford will remind us that we need to learn from the error of their ways.  We need to obey God, instead of being stubbornly rebellious like Israel was.  Find out more when you join us for today’s Treasured Truth.

As we begin a study in 1 Corinthians 10, we’ll see that the Apostle Paul wrote this passage for people of faith.  And, Pastor Ford will explain that Paul wanted believers to look back at Israel and see them as an illustration of what those who follow Christ don’t want to do in the Christian walk. Pastor Ford will explain today what Jesus meant when He said that believers are the salt of the earth.  They add zest to an otherwise bland world.  Others see their joy, they see their love, they see their commitment and are drawn to Christ.  But why aren’t people being drawn to some believers?  Because they’re not salt.

Today we’ll consider further the principles that led to the healing of Jairus’ daughter in Luke 8.  We’ll see the blessing that comes to him, all because he came to Jesus intentionally, and immediately, he waited on Jesus patiently and he trusted Jesus unreservedly.  And Pastor Ford will explain that because of all of Jairus did, Jesus blessed him abundantly.

After he came to Jesus intentionally, Jairus immediately invited Jesus to his house.  He wanted Jesus to come heal his daughter, but he also was focused on introducing Jesus to his entire household.  According to Pastor Ford, a wise father is the one who invites Jesus into his house and introduces Him to everyone there.

In preparation for Father’s Day, we’re looking at the story of Jairus, who came to Jesus with the one intention of getting his daughter healed.  And Pastor Ford wants dads to see that the first step in the process of a father seeing his children healed and seeing them raised, is for the father to come to Jesus intentionally.
