Treasured Truth

Today, Pastor Ford will let us know that our real focus should be on worship. Whatever we are going through, we ought to be able to say like the Psalmist says, “This is the day that Lord has made, WE WILL rejoice and we be glad in it.”

Today on Treasured Truth, we’ll learn that God has choreographed our day. His sovereignty is all over this day. So we need to understand He chose whatever we are going through for us specifically. He’s got a purpose that He’s trying to work in us, so that we would not lose our joy, but so we would stand firm in our faith in Him.

When we bless God for what He’s done specifically for us, that’s thanksgiving. When we bless God for what He’s done in the world around us, that’s praise. But when we bless God for Who He is, that’s worship.

God seeks us to worship Him. He wants sincere worship from us. Why? Because He not only wants us to be redeemed by Him, and a resource for Him to use, He also wants us to be rejoicing in Him through our worship.

God’s word never has an expiration date. It’s as relevant today as it was back in the beginning. But we see in His word that God’s timing is not like ours. Pastor Ford wants to remind us that if God took 700 years to fulfill a promise about His Son, then He may also take more than just a few years to fulfill the promises that apply to our lives.

Obedience is the hallmark of commitment. And we’re only as committed as we are obedient. Jesus said, “You are My friends if you do whatsoever I command you.” We need to surrender fully to Him. Consider giving Jesus the “blank check” of your life and let Him fill it in.

Pastor Ford will explain today that if our Christianity is not touching our whole life it’s because we’re still carnal. It’s because we’re still immature. It’s supposed to affect everything we have, everything we do, everything we say, feel and give. And so, our relationship with Christ should compel us to serve Him with our everything. Are you ready to serve Him that way?

The Devil is good at being the Devil, and that’s why we can learn some things from him. Wouldn’t it be good if some of us as Christians were as good at being Christians as the Devil is at being the Devil?

As we continue to consider what Christians can learn from the Devil, we see another thing we can learn from him is how to prioritize. He hates God and he hates everybody that serves God. He keeps his agenda focused on trying to destroy everything that God desires to preserve. Just think how effective we would be if we focused so wholeheartedly on what God wants us to prioritize.

It may feel like a strange thing to consider, but we can learn some things from the Devil. One of those things is how to persevere. See, he doesn’t give up, even though he doesn’t have all that we have to serve as an incentive for him to keep on going.
