Treasures Along the Path

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Jesus did not say blessed are the Baptists or the Catholics. He was teaching a basic principle for everyone.

Jesus came not to show us what He was, but to show us what we can be.

We need to awaken to our own self, our true nature.

Be loyal to your own path away from delusion toward enlightenment.

The spiritual path is about being pure in heart and loving God.

Everything is a manifestation of God.

Evil is the absence of true joy, yet evil is also joy, but diluted so that it no longer looks like joy.

Nothing can exist except God.

True purity means to claim the state of consciousness that is your own true self.

When you have no other desire except God’s will, and when you have no other love, except God’s love, then you will have that kind purity of heart that Jesus was talking about.

Joyfully surrender yourself to God’s will.

Everything that the masters accomplished, we too can achieve. This is our potential. You can achieve it in this lifetime. You don’t have to wait.

Absolutely make up your mind that you really want God above all else.

Constantly repeat, God, I only want You. You can say to God, that I have other desires, but at least I give them to You. Please help me.

Bringing Christ into your daily life involves embracing the reality that you are already one with God.

Remember God’s presence in everything you do. God is flowing through you, God is the Doer.

On a Christmas Sunday service, Kriyananda reads the Bible, Luke Chapter 1, about the birth of Christ and the inner experience of Christ consciousness.

The chosen ones are not just from a particular country or race, but all who love God. People call out to Him and their need is answered by God sending an Avatar, a Divine incarnation to redeem people and bring them back to divine remembrance again.

The birth of Christ 2,000 years ago was an event in history, but it was an event that has been repeated again and again by God through those who love Him and have been saved in Him. An Avatar is one who has attained liberation and then is able to come back and serve as a divine messenger.

The Law of Miracles – uses natural laws.

The natural laws that create miracles are less familiar to us.

The key to the miracles performed by the masters and saints, is the absence of ego.

The lack of personal motivation opens us up to higher dimensions of God’s universal laws.

Spiritualizing the Arts involves tuning into subtle levels of creative energy.

It is difficult to put into words, because it is more of a flow in the moment. We wish to create something, and by intuition the energy comes through us.

The greatest work of art, Kriyananda explains, is to make a masterpiece of ourselves by becoming true channels of God’s light in all that we do.

The channel is blessed by that which flows through it.

Try to meditate deeply to receive the flow of grace.

The Meaning of Inner Communion is learning to receive the power from God to transform our lives.

This talk is from a satsang Swami Kriyananda gave to the Ananda Community on his birthday. During the talk, he gave many techniques to quiet the restless mind.

He said, “God talks to you if you listen but if you stop listening, then he stops talking.”

He talks about spiritual leaders including Satya Sai Baba and Anandamoi Ma, and also about Hinduism and Christianity.

Here is a technique Yogananda suggested for ridding the mind of worry:

Inhale and tense the whole body, fill it with prana, so that your energy is very positive

Throw the breath out and relax.

The Arts Manifesting Divinity  –  the many ways art and music effect all people.

Art and music are important components in Ananda’s communities.

Yogananda’s guidelines in new ways to live, which he titled ‘the art of living,’ encompass a more free expression in the arts. He advocated the arts that truly express God and are life affirming and beautiful.

Kriyananda gives many insights on how to become a channel of God’s energy and find different ways to approach the arts.

Part One explains willpower as one of the determining factors in healing.

The energy coming to us for healing does not originate from ourselves, it comes through God’s grace. The divine energy that surrounds the body can be drawn upon at will.

Part Two is about refining your ability to decide how to proceed with healing. When the emotions are cleared out of the way you can better decide. Learn to be aware if your emotions are influencing the energy. You might feel a slight tension if it is influenced by the emotions. If the feeling is free and joyful without emotional influence you an learn to trust that. Your own experience will be your guide.

Refuse to think about things as problems, and be determined to find solutions.

Interiorize Your Mind – control the reactive process, dive deep in meditation and act with calmness and detachment.

Feed the inner fires of compassion in meditation, and to practice compassion in our daily lives by giving and doing things for others.

You are a child of God. Interiorization of the mind will reveal this.

A temptation of meditation is to become overly self-involved, and be aloof to the challenges of others.

The Art of Intuitive Teaching – let inspiration flow. Take time to learn the techniques and later relax while doing it.

There are certain things we need to learn that seem like drudgery but try to make learning these things fun.

When teaching intuitively have an objective outlook and be committed to the truth, not mere opinions.

People admire teachers who can admit they are wrong.

When you teach – offer, don’t dictate.

Ask God to give you inspiration. The more you bring God into the picture, the more you don’t have to worry. The practical, conscious mind can tell you “Oh, I’ve got to think about all these details because if I don’t, who will?” God doesn’t have to think of the details, he just gives you the answers!
