The Art of Intuitive Teaching – let inspiration flow. Take time to learn the techniques and later relax while doing it.
There are certain things we need to learn that seem like drudgery but try to make learning these things fun.
When teaching intuitively have an objective outlook and be committed to the truth, not mere opinions.
People admire teachers who can admit they are wrong.
When you teach – offer, don’t dictate.
Ask God to give you inspiration. The more you bring God into the picture, the more you don’t have to worry. The practical, conscious mind can tell you “Oh, I’ve got to think about all these details because if I don’t, who will?” God doesn’t have to think of the details, he just gives you the answers!

Receptivity – be dynamic in your self-offering and gratitude to God no matter what He gives you. You can’t be passive and ask for a different outcome. You need to accept whatever is given. Say ‘God I give it all to you.’
Everything that comes to us is God’s grace.
If what we’re given causes us pain, accepting it as God’s gift allows us to grow spiritually, and our receptivity increases.
Be with people who bring you joy.
We don’t create our truths, we receive them.

Humility – Swami Kriyananda explains that the power to accomplish anything comes from the Divine and how to draw on this power.
When someone complimented Yogananda on his humility, he replied, “How
can there be humility when there is no consciousness of self?”
In our quest to become one with God we must transcend the
thought that we are separate from God. Bring God into everything.
When negative thoughts come, the antidote is to bring them into the Light.
Yogananda said, “You can’t get rid of darkness in a room by beating at it with a stick, you have to turn the light on.”
When we look at the negative side long enough, we ourselves take on negative qualities. When we concentrate on the good, we take on goodness.”

“I Can” is one of the most important phrases in the English language!
If something we want to do is difficult, and we wonder whether or not we can do it, the affirmation “I can” is perhaps all we need. If we understand this correctly, we will succeed.
Yogananda said, “Thoughts are universally, not individually rooted.”
We cannot create truth, we can only perceive it.
This talk was given at the beginning of the Christmas season in 1981. Swami sings two Christmas songs and other songs, including Peace. He talks about the song Peace and when he composed it, and all of his music, he would “invite” inspiration, and it would come.
Inviting guidance and being receptive is a key to success in any endeavor. When you ask for guidance, do it humbly. We are children of the Infinite, why shouldn’t we be able to do whatever there is to be done, if we open our consciousness up to Him and allow Him to operate through us?
When you put out a strong thought with a lot of energy, it is like an electric current. It generates a magnetic field that draws to itself the answer that you want.

Need for Involvement – feel a kinship with all of life
A monk was asked, “Why did you renounce the world?” He said, “I have not renounced the world. I have embraced the world, by giving up identification with one little family. I have made the whole world my family.”
Give up the ego. It is the key to becoming involved. Serve others.
Deep meditation brings you closer to knowing who you are on the soul level. We are one with God.
Use discrimination with the things you choose to become involved in. Ask yourself, “Does this activity uplift and inspire me and others? Am I mixing with positive people? Am I maintaining a positive attitude?

How to be Happy – the most important thing is that we love God and tell him we want His presence all the time.
Kriyananda gives deep insights on how to maintain an attitude of unshakable joy, regardless of outer circumstances.
Try to develop a deeper understanding of surrender and sacrifice.
The shortest route to ignorance is moodiness and the greatest sin against Spirit is not to be happy.
Try not judge yourself if you make a mistake and compare yourself with others. Focus on your devotion.

Developing Strength Through Spiritual Tests – the greatest tests can be the greatest blessings.
There is no one who has found God who says, ‘it was all a scam.’ All saints say it was all worth it. They had to endure pain and suffering.
Acceptance and faith are key to developing spiritual strength.

Psychology of East and West is a fascinating talk given by Swami Kriyananda in 1982. He talks about the approach of standing back to observe the way your mind works, and then get into a flow of joy. The American Indians have a wonderful teaching: you can understand people when you are able to see them from within themselves, rather than just analytically from the outside. When you are trying to understand yourself, you can apply that same principle.
The scriptures from India state that it takes five to eight million lifetimes for the ego and soul to reach the point to be born in a human body. Psychology practice has dealt mostly with the here and now, in this one lifetime.
When you want to overcome a negative quality or circumstance, it doesn’t do any good to keep going over what’s wrong. Look for qualities you have that make you loveable, kind and so on. Think of your divine qualities. A leading quality is that you want to seek God.

Nearness of the Astral World – we live much more closely to the other world than we realize.
This talk emphasizes the impermanence of this world and the deeper reality of our spiritual nature and the astral world.
Kriyananda encourages us to look beyond form and see God in everything.
We only limit God’s power to work in our lives when we confine Him to a certain definition.
See truth and love as impersonal and the essence behind all form.
This talk is one in a series of 365 programs recorded for Aasta TV in India – A Way of Awakening. The 20 minute talks are based on readings from Kriyananda’s book Conversations with Yogananda
