‘Widow Champion’ takes us to rural Kenya, where Rodah Nafula Wekesa spearheads a courageous movement, rallying fellow widows to reclaim their rightful property. Sara Ciplickas sits down with Director Zippy Kimundu to discuss the trust necessary to complete this documentary and the progress made in these women’s fight against widow inheritance and patriarchal traditions. The film debuted in the US at Tribeca Festival and will be followed by a premiere at DC/DOX June 14th.
