  • How to Overcome Sexual Abuse

    Owning Your Power Through Challenges

About 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys in the United States experience child sexual abuse and we are almost certain that the number is far higher since many victims don't ever come forward. Unfortunately, someone known and trusted by the child or child's family members, perpetrates 91% of child sexual abuse. How do victims of child sexual abuse move forward to lead full, healthy lives? Is that even possible? According to Alreen Haeggquist, lawyer and author of "Fired Up: Fueling Triumph from Trauma", with a great deal of work, healing and deep empathy, it is absolutely feasible. While it's common to focus on the heinous acts, many people neglect to acknowledge the lifelong effects these acts may have on the victims. Alreen founded her firm, Haeggquist & ECK LLP, in San Diego in 2008, to help women find their voice and stand up for themselves while providing tools to aid them on their journey to wholeness. Tap in to this episode to hear Alreen's heart-wrenching story and her path to triumph.

    KEY POINTS & QUOTES:

    • Trust your gut!

    • Teach children about "stranger danger" but also teach them about "tricky people".

    • The incorrect response of the adult can greatly negatively impact the child by retraumatizing them.

    • We are conditioned to be silent about our pain and trauma.

    • Once you have been abused, you are more likely to be abused again by multiple people.

    • Studies have shown that there may be a link between child sexual abuse and illnesses like autoimmune diseases and fibroids.

    • While an apology might be nice, empathy and working on your own healing, is the key to forgiving yourself and your abuser.

  • The Pros and Cons of Being a Slut

Hoe-tales: The Pros and Cons of Being a Slut

We thought that we were done slut-shaming, but apparently we're back to calling women sluts and whores. The double standard is real. Way too many are pointing the finger at women calling them out of their names, but not enough people are recognizing that they're not sleeping with themselves. Plus, the assumption of what someone is doing without actually knowing is definitely frustrating all parties involved. We're so quick to pass judgment on women on their own journey learning to navigate and figure themselves out. Your youth is designed for learning and exploring. And keeping your options open, having a multitude of energetic exchanges, and living life your way is your choice! Just be clear of the consequences, benefits, and opportunities of it all! We talk through the whole spectrum and explore the pros and cons of being a slut.

  • How to Use Delusion to Create a Dope Life

May all your delulu come trululu. In the episode of "Using Delusion to Create an Inspired Life," we focus on the power in transforming your reality through astronomical thinking. Delusion is essential in shifting your mindset. You cannot allow the expectations and opinions of others to dictate your life and the vast opportunities it holds. Everyone has different experiences in life, and there is no right or wrong answer in these experiences. Another person's experience – although true for and to them – does not have to be your reality. Create a delusion that is supportive of your purpose regardless of what others think you may or may not be able to accomplish. Remember, your delusion serves as an armor for your dreams.

  • How to Improve your Money Mindset with Ashley M. Fox

In the "How to Improve your Money Mindset" episode, former Wall Street analyst and founder of Empify, Ashley M. Fox, describes how simply putting yourself in certain spaces can create the opportunity to expand your life. You must create an abundant mindset in order to attract abundance. We attract who we are and not what we want; therefore, training your mind to believe you are worthy of things is essential to accomplishing your goals. Ashley dives into the alignment of priorities in order to create generational wealth and invest in your future. Those that are wealthy subscribe to the mentality that they are deserving of wealth. You must feel like you are worthy of the lifestyle that you desire to bring it to fruition.

    KEY POINTS:

    • You have to put yourself in uncomfortable places to become comfortable.

    • Trust that you know yourself better than anyone else.

    • Do not allow others' stories or experiences to determine your reality.

    • Remove the psychological blocks and words from your mind that hold you back.

    • Wealth does not have a benchmark.

    • Investing is not an option, it is a standard.

    QUOTABLES:

"You don't attract what you want, you attract who you are."

"Your talent can get you into places that your character can kick you out of."

"If you have the money to spend on a company, you have enough money to invest."

  • Learning How to Move Through Life's Blockages

This episode is a little different and was hosted with a studio audience in New York, NY at Brace Life Studio. Conversing with Nikkia McClain, Unique Matthews, and Amber Lee Forrester at Triggered AF's first live event, The Evolve Experience, was hilariously open, honest, and perspective shifting. Each of these dynamic women provided tools to help us identify and move through the blockages that keep us stuck. It is absolutely ok to wake up and decide that you want to create a better version of yourself. And identifying and addressing the past experiences that helped create these blockages is the first step to overcoming them.

We are powerful enough to recreate our own reality and rewire our thought process. The mental blockages connected to certain things and people serve as reminders for the work we still need to do. Remember, stop advocating for your limitations. Hold yourself accountable and take actions that enable you to evolve.

    KEY POINTS:

    • Recognize what you want to change and what triggers those unhealthy habits.

    • Find ways to release the suppressed energy inside of you. Create conscious changes that compliment healthier habits.

    • Make decisions to adjust the things you internalize rather than completely eliminating the things that satisfy you.

    QUOTABLES:

"Many of our relationships are mirrors of who we are"

"Either you'll pay now or you'll pay later."

    "Stop advocating for your limitations!"
