John 3:16 is the most well known Bible verse in the world. And for good reason. But what's the context? Pastor Heuer takes a closer look at the rest of John 3 to help us better understand who Jesus is.

• What is your facebook algorithm putting in your feed?

Who is Jesus? This is one of the most important questions that we could ever ask. The Gospel of John seeks to answer that question. "These things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God." -John 20:31. This series will walk through the book of John as we Jesus invites us to Come and See who He is.

The book of Malachi has been challenging. Over and over, God keeps challenging His people to follow His way, rather than live their own way. For the past 4 weeks, we have looked at different directions that God gives His people. This week we ask the question: Which way are we/you going to go? Are we/you going to trust the directions that God has given or go back to what is comfortable and familiar? And how do we/you know that we/you are following God’s directions?

Which way are you going to go? As we wrap up this series with a number of hard challenges that God speaks to His people, are we going to go back to what's familiar and comfortable or are we going to follow the direction that God has given us, because we trust that His ways are always better?

Malachi 3:13-16

Let’s talk about tithing! Do you tithe? Why? Why not? Will God really keep His promises? It’s such an awkward concept to talk about in Church, but it’s one that God talks about often. So, this week, we don’t shy away from it. And, if Trinity Fremont is your local congregation, we have a challenge for you that we hope will take the roadblocks out of your way to test God in this.

• Do you have hair?

"Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need." - Malachi 3:10

Test me in this, says the Lord of hosts. This is the one time in the entire Bible that God tells us to test Him. Here we are called to text to see if He will truly keep His promises. Spoiler alert: He will. 

Your faith, my faith, our faith has an effect on those around you. So does our faithlessness. How does what you do affect your family and your community? How does your family and your community have an effect on you? 

You can find the story of Achan in Joshua 7 and the list of people who had a huge effect on those around them in Hebrews 11.
