This week we see how the God speaks to His people through the prophet Malachi about their faithlessness. How does your faith affect those around you? Is your faith just a you and Jesus thing or does it have an effect on your family and your community?

Malachi 2:10-16

KaVoD (Not COVID). It means to be weighty, to take up space. In other words, deserving of honor and respect. In Malachi 2, God asks “Where is my honor?” He asks us the same question today. Do we give God the honor that He deserves as the author and creator of all that ever was and is and is to come? Or do we give Him whatever is leftover?

What do you do with the abundance of grace and blessing that God has lavished upon you? Do you hold it to yourself and give God the leftovers? Or do you start with the move that positions God in a place of honor in your life?

Do you ever see Jesus as an accessory that is to be put on when it fits the occasion, but taken off when it doesn’t? Do you often keep Jesus in the margins of your life rather than letting Jesus be your everything? What does it mean to live clothed in the robes of Christ’s righteousness? 

This week we start a new series on the book of Malachi, entitled: “The Fight Against Spiritual Boredom” as we look at how God calls us to live out our identity as a special, chosen, child of God.

• What’s your favorite part of fall?

"I have loved you" says the Lord. As God's special chosen people, we are called for a purpose - to be a beacon of light in this dark world. But often, we want Jesus to be an accessory that we can put on when it fits the occasion and take off when it doesn't.

Revelation is a really hard book of the Bible to read and understand because it's filled with symbols. Understanding that each of these symbols are attached to specific insider information is key to your reading of this final book the Bible.

The gospels call us to die to ourselves so that we can live for Jesus. The epistles show us what living for Jesus looks like. We are called to be different. Jesus and Paul encourage us to get used to different. How is your family different?

But it’s not just about being different to be different. We are called to be different for Jesus. So that others might see us and wonder why we have the hope that we have.

This week we continue our Binge Reading the Bible series with the Epistles.

After Jesus claims us as His own, what does that mean for our daily lives? Do we go on living as we always have? We are called to be different, to be transformed. 

The gospels. The Gospel. What are they and what do they teach us? How do we live them out in our homes? How do we teach them to our children?

“Jesus came to die and our life, our hope, our meaning, our purpose, our identity, is found in dying with him.”
