Season two is here and I only now think it's absurd to break it up into seasons. 

I explain why I left, and why it took me so long to come back. Not terribly in depth, but it's a start. 

I also emotionally talk about Mary York for a bit, which is what sparked this recording. I plan on doing more on this story in the future. 

This is the end of season one. 

I talk with R about some of the things he's had to witness and live with ....but still wakes up every morning excited to see the world. And he does it without sounding cornball about it. 

His personal mantra "pick your head up" is truly inspirational, and I think everyone will enjoy this talk.

This episode I recount as many memories as I can about Scott, my dad, who I had a turbulent relationship with my entire life. 

I couldn't understand why he refused to try and break the cycle his father, as far as I knew, built. Why continue with physical and mental abuse? I sure haven't. I can't. I've always known I'm a self centered selfish person deep down, but after having two kids of my own it really changed that perspective for me. The world doesn't need two more screwed up people, and I'm gonna do my best to help them have normal, if not successful, lives. 

This episode I go back into my memory files and talk about my half sister's dad, who physically abused my mom and I for a long time.  While I believe, in the long run, it had a positive effect on me, I don't think that's a rationalization for any adult to abuse a child. They aren't getting tougher, they're just understanding who they shouldn't be....and is that the type of example a parental figure should be? 

This week I sat down with JB, who has panic attacks. He also has a good message for everyone. I start the show with a clip from David Letterman's Netflix show, where he talks with Kanye West. It's short, but.....interesting. I wish more celebrities used their platform to talk about mental health.

This week I found myself digging into the Tim Jones Jr case. If you weren't aware, which is not surprising given the lack of traction the story has, this is a man who murdered his five children in 2014. 

It wasn't an easy episode to make, I had to stop and take breaks just to keep my own sanity in check. Luckily I wasn't far from either of my own kids to just crawl into their world for a bit and maybe even get a hug. 

The murders aren't the point, and this isn't a true crime podcast. 

Jo discusses her life long struggle with being bi polar, depression, and anxiety. She was diagnosed at 13, and her parents convinced her she should be embarrassed by the illness instead of trying to understand it. 

I sit down with another friend from the past. I'm shocked it's been ten years, give or take, since the last time we were around each other. 

Life takes us down different paths, and some times we think we are gaining wisdom without realizing we're losing some people that mean a lot to us. Thank goodness for second chances, right? 

This week I talk in detail about some past memories I started writing about last year, most likely an ongoing thing as well.  I also share a clip I recorded when I realized I'd fallen into a depressive hole out of nowhere. I found it interesting to hear myself out loud talking about things usually reserved for simply thinking about.
