Dr. Mayer interviews a young female who vividly describes her progression from an ideal home life in a comfortable upper-middle class suburban home to a teen obsessed with smoking pot and drinking. She enters college and her drug use escalates and expands into cocaine and as she describes, “…it is downhill from there.” Like she described when first introduced to drinking in friend’s basements, she is hooked from the first time she uses cocaine. All the while she used drugs she hides her out-of-control usage from her parents, family and her community. She leads a secret, double life of a party girl and cocaine addict.
