True Crime with Kendall Rae

Phillip Peatross was an easy-going, friendly, family-oriented man who started dating Caryn Kelley after the two met at the Hard Rock Hotel. After a little over a year together, Peatross was shot and killed in 2011, and after it was determined the story of the situation was just too unclear, Kelley’s motive was questioned.

Relisha Rudd was an 8-year-old girl living with her mother at a homeless shelter, when she disappeared one day. Many theorize that the janitor at the shelter – who had a felony record for burglary, larceny, and breaking and entering, and had been spending a lot of time with Relisha alone – kidnapped her.

On August 1, 2018, Mary Katherine Higdon was at home with her boyfriend Steven Freeman. Higdon says she was simply handing her boyfriend one of their guns, when it went off in her hands, shooting him. She also alleges that she didn’t know there was a bullet in the chamber. Evidence at the crime scene makes it look more like some sort of fight was going on at the house right before the shooting. Eventually, Higdon confessed to the crime, but the recording taken at the police station had corrupted, and was unusable.

Caylee Anthony was the two-year-old daughter of Casey Anthony, a neglectful mother who seemed to prioritize her party lifestyle over the life of her daughter. When Caylee’s grandparents asked to see their grandchild, as it had been some time since they’d been with her, Casey confessed that her daughter was allegedly taken by a nonexistent nanny, had been missing for the last 31 days, and she hadn’t bothered to report it.

In 2010, Ali Lowitzer stepped off the school bus to go to work, and was never seen again. After police mishandled this case every step of the way, and didn’t take the Lowitzers seriously, the family decided to take the search into their own hands.

Big thank you to Jo Ann for working with my team to tell Ali's story. She is an incredible woman who continues to do so much for the missing persons community.

Hello,
My name is ___ and I am reaching out to ask about the status of Ali Lowitzer’s case. She went missing on April 26, 2010, after stepping off the school bus and has never been heard from again. This case has been grossly mishandled and I hope that you can tell me more about what’s being done to solve this. I ask that you please prioritize this case and get in touch with Ali's mom, Jo Ann, and offer her insight into how you are handling this case.

You can also tweet @HCSOTexas and ask that they look into Ali’s case.

Late one night in 2001, Michael Peterson and his wife Kathleen were sitting outside chatting and drinking, when Kathleen went back inside the house. Michael allegedly went inside not long after, and came across her body laying in a bloody mess at the bottom of the staircase. Michael would continue to insist that his wife had fallen to her death through the length of what became one of the longest trials in North Carolina state history.
