Leaked medical records from Mica Francis’ in-patient and outpatient visits to mental health facilities were leaked to the public over the past week, and investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell are diving in. According to the records — some of which were sent directly to Luna Shark Media and others that were posted online by a TikToker sympathetic to JP Miller’s plight — Mica was confused about her diagnosis and its symptoms.

At the same time, these records raise questions about how Mica was being treated and where clinicians were getting some of their information about her alleged behavior. In one report, the clinician notes that Mica recognized the need to “listen to her husband when he raises concerns.”

Also on the show, one of the two appeals in the Bowen Turner case is set to be heard and it’s a big deal.

Next week attorneys representing one of Bowen’s victims — whom he pleaded guilty to assaulting — will argue that the prosecution and defenses deprived her from her constitutional right to be present at Bowen’s plea hearing. Investigative reporters Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell continue their look into the Mica Francis case with Part Two of their deep dive into the pile of “evidence” her estranged husband — Myrtle Beach Pastor JP Miller — filed in her probate case. 

The evidence was meant to support JP’s claims that he was a good husband and not the cause of Mica’s death this past spring. Instead, Mandy and Liz are finding that the evidence — when pieced together — provides a disturbing look at the early days of the couple’s marriage. From the very beginning, JP seems to have seized on Mica’s alleged bipolar disorder diagnosis and appears to have used it as a way to contain and control Mica.

Investigative reporters Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell continue their in-depth coverage of the Mica Francis case. 

Earlier this month, exhibits filed with Horry County Probate Court by Mica’s estranged husband, Myrtle Beach Pastor JP Miller, were made available to the public. To JP Miller, they are evidence that Mica Miller was a sick woman and he only wanted the best for her — that her estrangement from him was the result of family pressure and not because of anything she felt. 

He is adamant that he bears no responsibility in her April 27 death. But does the evidence show what JP says it does? 

Over the next few episodes, Mandy and Liz will analyze the exhibits piece by piece and discuss what this newly revealed information actually says about JP’s relationship with Mica. 

In Part One, they explore the first two months of Mica’s marriage to JP and specifically the events that occurred in the 30 days between Mica’s surgery on Dec. 1, 2017, and their church wedding at the end of the year. JP maintains that Mica experienced a bout of post-anesthetic psychosis and that the effects of this lasted in some form or other until her death. But is that really what happened? A look at emails and texts from that time seem to point to something else … and that something looks a whole lot like coercive control. 

Also on the show, a FOIA request from Luna Shark reveals new information in Mica’s case. In February of this year, Mica Francis reached out to the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Office to report that JP had allegedly stolen her notary seal.

Investigative reporters Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell share two newly released 911 calls in the Mica Francis case. In the first call, Mica’s estranged husband Pastor JP Miller can be heard in the background as his loyal friend and associate pastor Tricia Ross tries to get Mica arrested by accusing her of theft. 

As Mandy and Liz continue to piece together the days and weeks leading up to Mica’s death in April, they’re finding more and more evidence of the abject cruelty Mica might have been experiencing in February and March as the system got weaponized against her. In the second call, Pastor JP gives away what kind of church leader he is after calling police on a “bum” seeking water and reportedly in the middle of a potential medical crisis. Also on the show, in a TikTok interview, JP Miller says that before she died Mica tried to get JP to give her a handwritten apology letter detailing all the things he was sorry for. JP says “apology letter” but it sounds almost like Mica was trying to get JP to handwrite a confession. Was she working with the FBI before she died? Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell continue their coverage of the Mica Francis case, starting with JP Miller’s shock and horror upon discovering a shirtless photo has been posted of him online.

Social media came hard for JP this week with more accusations surrounding the tattoo of Mica’s signature he has on his torso. Solid Rock Ministries continues its battle with protesters, who were assaulted by a sprinkler this past weekend.

Mandy and Liz also break down the contents of the Medical Examiner’s report into Mica’s death — needless to say, the report raises more questions than it answers but mostly Mandy and Liz were astounded at its lack of thoroughness and its reliance on non-medical evidence. Plus, a newly released 911 call sheds more light onto Mica’s state of mind on March 11, when she filed her restraining order against JP. It also sheds more light onto the broken system that failed Mica — and continues to fail women everywhere.

Finally, two police reports filed by JP’s ex-wife outline very familiar accusations of harassment and stalking … as well as very familiar shrugs from law enforcement.
