Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Matthew 6:25 which says "25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?"

"They say healthy relationships are built on trust. You’ve heard the words before, “If we don’t have trust, we don’t have anything”. We understand how important that it in romantic relationships, but why is it any different in our relationships with Christ?

 

This verse is saying do not worry about your life. What will you eat or drink, what you will wear. Is not life more than food…

 

Think about that saying, is life not more than food, and the body more than clothes.

 

In short, of course there is so much more to life. The relationships we build, the memories we make, the love we experience, yet sometimes we sacrifice all of these moments, we sacrifice our moments while we are paralyzed in worry.

 

A lot of the times we treat our jobs, the number in the bank, the numbers of likes on Tik Tok, and the number of followers on Instagram has if it were the clothes on our body. The thing is none of these things will sustain us.

 

We must trust God. We must trust that He will never allow us to go hungry. We must trust that He always has our best interest in mind. We must trust what is written in the Bible. We must trust what He has to say about us. Without trust, we make this relationship about us and not about Him."
