In this episode, we tackle questions & comments from other interracial couples.  Having a relationship is already tricky within itself, but when you step into the interracial arena, it gets a bit more involved.  Although we live in a society that's a bit more progressive, there are still areas as well as people who continue to disapprove of interracial love.  They often offer comments, micro-aggressions, and questions that show their disapproval.

We review and break down other couples' questions and answers and to that, we share our own experiences.  Now keep in mind we have been married for over 30+ years, so our experiences may be tainted with a bit more hurt and rejection.  But remember we made it through and we are still going strong.  Let’s get into it!

**Beware** Movie Spoiler Alert

We know, We know - you’re thinking, ‘who are they referring to, with this, “You People” bullcrap! Hey! It’s not what you think and it’s everything you think.  We are deep diving into the recently released movie on Netflix, “You People”! This movie takes a plunge into interracial dating from all sides - color, culture, religion, beliefs, family, outside interferences, friends, and just plain ignorance about the treatment of each other's cultural lifestyles.  Bonus: There are beautiful references to Nipsey Hussle throughout the movie.

This movie tackles differences and comparisons within a newly found love between a white Jewish male and a black Muslim female. The lengths that each of their parents goes to ensure their respective child is making the right decisions are funny, emotional & sometimes very awkward. But are they doing too much? Are they going too far? We light-heartedly dissect a few scenes, while comparing our own interracial relationship journey.

If you haven't seen the movie, then you should definitely treat yourself.  This movie has a comedic spin to some of the most needed courageous conversations that should be happening within an interracial relationship.  Conversations that should be happening, prior to the huge next step of true commitment. Do you have your word(s) for the year? Well, let’s regroup and put our new year goals and aspirations in place.  Notice I did not say resolutions.  Do you know why? Because, the problem is that many people set these bodacious resolutions that are sometimes very unrealistic, and they don't follow through on them. The key is if you were not doing any of those things in the previous year, how are you going to magically bite off such a big resolution in the new year? So here is our recommendation……….

Start with simple keywords that can drive your focus on whatever goals you may have. Also, be ready to evolve, because the words you start with in the new year may not be the same words you end the year with or more words may be added. It’s beauty in motion!

A new year is upon us and like so many do every year - new year resolutions are coming out of the woodwork! This episode is different from your traditional resolution breakdown. Instead, we want to discuss what we learned in the previous year that will serve us well in the New Year!

New Year's resolutions and setting goals is a great fresh start for the beginning of the year, to get us back on track. But somewhere in the middle of the first few months, those resolutions fizzle out - now what!? So instead of burning through those traditional resolutions facades, why not evaluate your year and bring what worked into the New Year? Also, dissect what didn't work and either drop it or evolve it into a workable solution for the next year. So in other words forget about the resolutions and set your New Year up for success with intentional solutions. Let’s get into it!!
