Hello lovelies, today I'm chatting about manifesting and belief work. The good, bad, and ugly. Everything from mindfulness, RAS (the science), aligned gratitude and growth mindset to spiritual bypassing, victim blaming, the nuance around you get what you focus on, and cult culture, etc. Let's bring a trauma-informed approach to our manifesting practice (law of attraction).ย
Enjoy the episode,
Kirsty xx

Today, we are chatting about breaking generational trauma whilst raising kids/teens. I talk about my parenting experiences, motherhood, loneliness, teens' mental health, social anxiety, school avoidance (refusing school / can't go to school), and how we blame parents so we don't have to look at the systems that harm aka how school is not a place all kids can thrive in, especially neurodivergent children (of course how we parent makes a massive difference too, but this what they want us to do, blame our parenting rather than how things are stacked against us).
I talk a bit about conscious parenting, parent shaming, repair work, technology, making mistakes, boundaries with kids and teenagers that are developmentally appropriate over punishments, and the lessons I've learned. I talked about my struggles with being present and being exhausted. My diagnosis of complex PTSD and not having that elusive village or support system and having family who doesn't understand a trauma-informed approach or breaking cycles that are unhealthy. This episode is not parenting advice, I'm still learning and getting it 'wrong', and yet these things have already made a huge difference so I wanted to share it in the hopes it might be helpful to others. It's my story, experiences, and things I've learned along the way that has helped.
I mentioned Aly Pain and Maggie Nick from Parenting with perspectacles (if you listened) and wanted to look them up, there are two teen parent coaches whom I've learned so much from their social media accounts on Instagram alone.ย
Hope you enjoy it,
Kirsty xx

Today I'm chatting about reciprocity in relationships & boundaries with family and friends. I talk about loneliness, making new friends, setting boundaries with family, and friends, and creating reciprocity in relationships by being honest with myself and what I wanted and being vulnerable enough to communicate that and possibly face rejection. I talk about fawning, the anxiety of setting boundaries when you've had trauma/grown up in a dysfunctional home, and people-pleasing, overgiving tendencies. I also talk about ghosting and how painful that is and how that and the lack of reciprocity, and boundaries erode our self-esteem.ย
I hope you enjoy it,
Kirsty xx

Hello lovelies, today we chat about emotional wellness, relational healing, and unconditional love. We go into men's mental health and the struggle to be able to get support and express emotions. We also chat about loneliness from not having relationships where we can share about our trauma, challenges, and the hard things we are navigating and how our struggles show up differently in our marriage. Tony talks about how men often can't share as it's seen as a weakness, especially in the workplace and male dominant environment.ย We chat about mindfulness and meditation and the things we do that help.ย

Today, we are talking shame, deep healing and the inner teen. I have done inner child healing for a long time, but I realised it was my teen that needed the love recently. She had deep shame, fear, perfectionistic tendenies that were playing out in my adult life. When I was triggered I'd revert back (or at least feel 14) with emotional flashbacks and insecurities. She didn't know her worth. She had so much shame and here's the thing we all do. When we can see it, tend to that part of ourslves we can 'heal' - by heal I mean move forward in way that benefits us rather than cycles that hurt us.ย
Enjoy the episode, may we all move beyond perfectionism and creates lives and realtionships that nourish us so,
Kirsty xx

Today I'm talking about anger, rage, trauma recovery & complex PTSD (CPTSD). I go over how you can use your anger and rage to 'heal'. How when integrating your anger and rage it can really serve you and how the fight response can come up so you can advocate for yourself.ย I talk about healthy ways to use your anger and rage to serve you. To go from fawning to boundaries and self-expression. I use a technique that I believe is similar to internal family systems and briefly mention polyvagal theory. I talk about somatic practices to be in your body and feel what you are feeling. To listen to what anger and rage have to say. I talk about how my trauma shows up often as perfectionism, fawning, people-pleasing, emotional flashbacks, and feeling unsafe and how I navigate that. I share how I work with my resistance and do integration (shadow work).
