It’s Friday, it’s P*ck day, and tonight his special guest on Truth Wanted will (finally) be Emma Thorne! This week’s Patron of the Week is Matthew Scholtes!

Our first contestant is Liam in Louisiana, come on down! Liam asks our hosts about separation of church and state, specifically their opinion on the mayor of New Orleans incorporating a Catholic tradition in their inauguration ceremony. Puck isn’t about to die on the hill of swearing in on Bibles, or other traditions that are nominally associated with religion. If the Freedom from Religion Foundation is though, we certainly won’t complain!

Aaron has beef with tonight’s YouTube poll, and feels like cryptocurrency being framed as either “the future of currency” or “a pyramid scheme” isn’t entirely fair. Puck illustrates how NFTs could be perceived as a scam, and asks Aaron some pointed questions. Emma’s not convinced either, and won’t be buying a slice of any songs any time soon.

Scott wants to talk about the Central Park 5 case. Our hosts aren’t super familiar with the case, but promise to look into it further. Also, there may have been baby dinosaurs on Noah’s Ark (but probably not).

Connla wants to talk about how NFTs could ruin the video game experience by pushing out those who aren’t willing to shell out the big bucks for space. Our hosts agree that it’s a ‘dangerous game,’ analogous to the pitfalls of loot boxes and pay-to-win mechanics. All parties can agree that legislation could help limit greed, and make gaming better for everyone.
