  1. Number 1: 230: Nuance, Complexity, and Social Media

Lindsay Clancy is a 32-year-old Massachusetts woman who is on trial this week after confessing to murdering her 3 small children in 2023. Her defense contends that she was suffering from a postpartum psychosis that was responsible for her actions. She's testified that she heard voices telling her to kill the children, and that at the time of the killings, she was suffering from extreme mental illness, and a shocking cocktail of psychiatric medications. While it's difficult to analyze this particular trial without sitting in the courtroom and hearing all of the testimony, it's not difficult to analyze the deep flaws within American culture right now, as we look at the social media responses to this trial. Let's see what we can find out. Samuel D. James, “Lindsay Clancy and the problem of therapy culture”, August 24, 2026. Christina Grube, “Defense rests in viral Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial”, August 21, 2026. Steven Wedgeworth, “A Canadian liturgy of death?”, August 5, 2026.

  2. Number 2: 229: The State of Abortion in America Today

In 2021, Planned Parenthood published an article, arguing that abortion proponents should change their language and quit using the terms pro-choice or pro-abortion. They said the problem is that those terms seem to imply that abortion is a badthing. They seem to imply that abortion is a bad thing. Instead, they said, let's change the terminology to other more positive upbeat things, because we don't want to stigmatize abortion as somehow being bad. Well, that's just what abortion proponents would do. This is typical. Instead of confronting the reality that abortion kills a living human baby, their solution is, let's monkey with the propaganda and the vocabulary so that we can continue to hide the reality of this barbaric practice. Let's talk about the state of abortion in America today. Elizabeth Black, "Catholic Vote calls for Massachusetts governor's excommunication", August 13, 2026. David Closson, "Seared consciences in Massachusetts", August 17, 2026. David Closson, "Dropping the 'pro-choice' pretense", August 10, 2026.

  3. Number 3: 223: The Tide is Turning in Our Culture

As we approach the end of June, have you noticed what a quiet pride month we've had this year? There are reasons for that. And the LGBTQ agenda, they're panicked. Let's talk about it. Joseph Backholm, “A ridiculous but revealing argument,” June 22, 2026. Travis K. Kircher, “Baseball team forfeits game as players refuse rainbow jerseys,” June 18, 2026. Ray Hacke, “Compulsory Pride,” June 17, 2026.

  4. Number 4: 222: Can the government be a good parent?

If you kill a language, you actually destroy an entire universe of meaning. C.S. Lewis coined a phrase a word “verbicide”, which he used to describe what he called the murder of a word. As a writer, you can imagine that verbicide for Lewis was considered to be a major crime. We can only imagine what C.S. Lewis would think today about the state of New York legally changing the language of their law code by substituting for the word mother, with the words gestating parent. Let's talk about this. R. Albert Mohler, “Mass verbicide in New York”, June 15, 2026. Joseph Backholm, “Government as super-parent”, June 5, 2026. Glenn T. Stanton, “Pushback for parental rights in Colorado”, June 4, 2026.

  5. Number 5: 221: The difference between prepper and prepared

In the church I pastor, we have homesteading courses, classes that teach, canning fruits and vegetables, building a pantry. The kind of skills your grandma taught you or used to teach you. Somebody recently asked me, is this church a prepper church? So, I thought about that question, and today, I want us to talk about the difference between being a prepper and being prepared. Les Sillars, “Visions of the Apocalypse”, September 2025. Carolina Lumetta, “Prophetic Foreign Policy” , September 2025. Kim Henderson, “Beans, Bullets, and Band-Aids” , January 2025.
