  • Boomerang Pt.2 With @Erikarmccall

FINALLY!!!!! The crew gets to review something fun, thanks to our special guest  @erikarmccall. This week we review the classic film by #EddieMurphy #Boomerang. I really shouldn’t even have to tell you what it’s about, I mean do you have a pulse. Nevertheless, we get playboy Eddie and the epitome of devil in a dress that is miss #RobinGivens. The two go into a battle of the players. It’s just classic fun comedy. We get to see tons of what we now consider our comedian greats like #ChrisRock and #DavidAlanGrier in their early start. And obviously we would be remissed not to mention #HalleBerry before Eric Benet fucked her head up. This was a great conversation about relationships, roles in relationships and the games people play in dating.

  • Monster ( Take Yo Ass Home )

In this episode the crew gets together to discuss #Netflix #Monster. The movie was originally released in 2018 at that year’s #SundanceFilmFestival. Due to #therona, there were some timely delays in getting the film out the general public. Timely because it’s being made available to the now as we see the country’s focus on #racial #injustices and #criminaljusticereform. The film takes us through the events leading up to the trial of a young man, #SteveHarmon played by #KelvinHarrisonJr as well as the trial itself. The trial is ultimately about how young teens in the urban environment are perceived and present to the world. You have the flamboyant and flashy quote unquote gangster played by #ASAPROCKY and the “good kid” from the bad neighborhood in a good school played by #KelvinHarrisonJr, who is the jury to believe?  There’s always variants of the truth, so reality can become the narrative we choose to believe. That was the case here, one story, two characters, and the jury made the selection as to who they deemed worthy of existing among our society. Let us know if you agree with their choices below.

  • Bad Trip ( Tickling Dicksies )

In this episode the crew gets together to discuss #Netflix #BadTrip. The movie featured notable names like #LilRel and #TiffanyHaddish. The story came from the comedy stylings of the #EricAndre who we believe sought to have #whiteboyhumor crossover into the black community via notable names #LilRel and #Tiffany. I have never really been a fan of this kinda humor because I found it to be lazy. I don’t need every comedy to be #DaveChapelle Mark Twain award speech but, duck jokes and the naked man running around confused, I will proudly call low brow and lazy comedy. The movie had its moments, mainly those involving #TiffanyHaddish but after the resurrection of #Borat, then seeing this, let’s hope this is not a trend and we do not get another #Jackass movie. Let us know what you think.

  • Without Remorse ( Power of the pawn )

In this episode the crew gets together to discuss #Amazon #PrimeVideo #WithoutRemorse. From the posters online, to the trailers, there was no denying this was a #TomClancy war thriller. We had the obligatory wife murdered, the grieving widower who must avenge her death, and of course the sneaky little fuck that back stabs everyone but dies gruesomely in the end. The movie gives a little bit of a #SplinterCell vibe if you’ve ever played the #PS2 classic. Needless to say the draw for this movie was #MichaelBJordan. We can’t recall every seeing him in a role like this, but watching his performance it’s very hard not to think #Creed or #FruitvilleStation. For some of us the jury his still out on whether or not he can act as good as he looks. All in all, you’re not missing anything with this movie. The fact that it is currently #1 in America, per #Amazon should be proof people are bored and we need to #OPENERUP s/o to the boys over at #Flagrant2. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

  • Mortal Kombat ( The spectrum )

In this episode the crew gets together to discuss the latest #MortalKombat movie, currently streaming on HBO. So here’s the thing, this was bad, but there’s good bones. Watching this movie was like buying a foreclosure in Flint Michigan, people told you it’s not worth it, but ya had to see for yourself. Well, I am reclaiming my time HBO. And before y’all say shit, we all watched the first ones, we all played the games, we all loved the characters. All that shit aside, this was a horrible and lazy production. A great idea using the origin stories of #SubZero and #Scorpion to kick off the franchise. However, they were barely in the movie. Also, the fight scenes in a movie named #MORTALKOBAT should not lag, and be out of sync like a tone deaf Karen. Also, it’s 2021 for Christ sakes. Domino’s is delivering pizza via robots now, and these, these were the graphics, make it make sense damn it. Disappointed isn’t even the word.  But maybe it’s us, let us know in the comments below.

  • I Care A lot ( Mama say Knock you OUTT!! )

In this episode the crew gets together to discuss Netflix’s I Care A Lot.  The movie is sort of like white Bamboozled, a Wamboozled if you will. The movie stars #RosamundPike who plays a  court appointed guardian who basically strips the people she’s appointed to care for of everything to fund her lifestyle. The crazy shit is, it’s legal and business is booming. The worse part it’s a whole ring, everyone’s in on it, except maybe the judge. #Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttt maybe not. Either way the movie takes jabs of the patriarchal construct of power. The powerful man is reaches maybe the knee of the woman in power. It’s funny in a clever way but not pretentious, it’s dark but not emo, it’s balanced. But still because these things really happen in today’s world, it’s scary. Tell us what you think in the comments.

  • The White Tiger (King Shit)

I this episode the crew gets together to discuss Netflix’s The White Tiger. The movie is the cinematic manifestation of the Eminem’s classic “Lose Yourself”. You have one chance that could change your life and the lives of the people you love forever, could you take it. Now what if taking it meant you and those loved ones could be brutally murdered if caught, could you take it? What if doing so meant taking the life of someone you were tasked with caring for, could you take it the shot then? This was the central conflict plaguing the lead character Balram Halwai at the movie’s apex. Everyone has a breaking point. A point where having respect for one’s self enough to put one’s needs first and above all others. Balram reached that point, and took that shit, sorry we mean shot.

  • Two Distant Strangers (Nightmare on Her Street)

In this episode the crew gets together to discuss Netflix’s “Two Distant Strangers”. **exhales** why, just why the fuck did we get this movie. We are getting ahead of ourselves, let’s start with love. The movie follows a young black artist played by Joey Badass as he tries to get home to his dog. Only issue is he is stuck in a loop where he relives the day he dies at the hand of a police officer hell bent on making sure he doesn’t make it to his dog or another day. No matter how he tries to evade the cop the result is always the same. Whether it’s death by the Eric Garner  choke hold, or the Breanna Taylor bad info home invasion, he dies. Conceptually, the movie is amazing, creative and innovative in how it allows the audience to live through or relive trauma of present day America. Performance wise, stellar, Joey is a talent tour de force and it’s undeniable. Now all that said, why the fuck did we need to watch another movie of another black man dying. The fuck is the point. We are all aware that shit is happening, now what?? How about one showing a solution, like I don’t know maybe a movie where qualified immunity is abolished at the federal level so cops realize if you kill us it’s jail and no fucking pension. Stop finding creative ways to restate the problem instead of presenting a solution. But maybe it’s us.

  • Concrete Cowboy (Young Boul)

In this episode the crew gets together to discuss Netflix’s Concrete Cowboy. The movie is BoyZ N Da Hood meets an episode of the Dr. Phil with troubled teens, how bout dat. The movie tells two story’s in two genres. First, there’s the story about the troubled teen who’s forced to live with his estranged father for the summer and all the quintessential drama that comes with that. Secondly, is the story of the Fletcher street cowboys that is a true story. The purpose of the film seems to be to call attention to this culture of Black cowboys in an urban settings. There are maybe a total of 6 actors in the film with the rest being real Fletcher street cowboys and cowgirls, so keep that in mind before judging the acting. Overall it seems like neither story got adequate attention and for that the movie seems half assed. Let us know what you think.
