For the past eight years, Indiana's 9th Congressional District has been represented by someone who never actually lived in Indiana. He did not serve Hoosier during that time, he only served himself and his family's wealth. This year we have multiple Democratic candidates running in the primary working to earn your support. Meet another this week.

And, as the saying goes, all politics is local. County government is where the term public servant is in full effect. We will hear from a servant who has represented Monroe County in the past and hopes to so again, just in a different role.

We chat with the chair and vice chair of the Indiana Democratic Party and hear their plans for the 2022 election.

I try to have as many candidates on Turn Left as I possibly can, but I do feel it is important to have strategic political conversations that inform the electorate on how decisions being made by elected officials will impact lives. This weeks show will be a mix, but we will make it flow.

We have heard over and over again, women need to be asked at least seven times before they decide to run for office. And with so many areas of our state very red, this makes the decision to run that much harder. However as you are mulling over the decision, you still have time for you to put your name on the ballot.

We have seen some of the harmful legislation coming out of our state house, and we recognize how damaging much of that legislation can be on communities. We have an opportunity to end the super majority in the state house, but it takes work.

In the midst of primary season, we as Democrats can be on edge with each other. Everybody wants to win. That's why this week we are taking a break from talking with candidates and spending time with some friends. We are all on the same side.
