February 11, 2021The Five Heartbeats CommentaryI know this movie isn't a straight up biopic and that it's very loosely based on one or several R&B groups from that time period (The Dells in particular if I'm not mistaken), but I focused on the film itself overall... I didn't want to cloud the episode with a bunch of mix and match facts I wasn't sure of. But all in all, this has always been a home run for me. There's the music, but there's also the magic and madness displayed behind that. And the performances are the icing on the cake. It takes you through just about every emotion there is, and has such a soulful ending. Enjoy, people....more2h 6minPlay
February 11, 2021The Devil Below Trailer Reaction/ThoughtsWe got us another creature feature on our hands but this time, it's from the hands of the same director of The Chernobyl Diaries... I haven't seen that one fully but I'm a sucker for found footage stuff, so I may soon. I hadn't heard a single word about this film at all but if it's a monster on the loose, practical effects to be seen, and cherry pie to be splattered, I'm all for a go round here. Enjoy, y'all....more22minPlay
February 10, 2021Fast 9 SuperBowl Trailer Breakdown/ThoughtsBetter late than never, but I couldn't miss out on telling y'all my crazy theories and overall thoughts on this last trailer... While pretty tame for a Super Bowl spot (they drove a car through a skyscraper in the Furious 7 Super Bowl spot for God's sake), there are sooo many things running through my mind as far as what they showcase here. I see a lot of family, so that's also a big plus. Enjoy, folks....more39minPlay
February 06, 2021The History & Future Of Black Superheroes And Their Movies (Happy 64th Birthday, Robert Townsend)Black superheroes, for better or worse, have been around long before Black Panther made cinematic history on the big screen... Some comic book material based, and others being original ideas. Either way, I'm here for all the diversity and proper depictions of us on any screen. There's been some hits and misses overall, but I had to take time out to celebrate and discuss the males and females who have paved the way and are setting the tone for newcomers. Enjoy, people....more1h 7minPlay
February 05, 2021Mindhunters 2004 ReviewI recently went back and checked this one out, and I quickly remembered why it has always stood out to me... But funny enough, it seems to go unnoticed amongst the majority of horror/thriller fans out here. The flaws are far and few in between for me, but the film overall is certainly one of the more creative whodunits to come out of the entire 2000s era of the genre. It was only right I discussed this one, and gave it it's proper dues. Enjoy, folks....more54minPlay
February 04, 2021Uno Movie With Lil Yachty Is A Certified SkipThere's a lot of dumb ass ideas I can let slide in front of my on screen... This not being one of them. As if this kid hasn't terrorized the music industry enough with shitty music, he has to now venture off into the film industry. And into a film based off of one of my favorite childhood games. So in the words of a winner of an Uno game, "I'm out". Enjoy, y'all....more25minPlay
February 03, 2021Valentine Commentary (Happy Belated 20th Anniversary)When you think of 90s/2000s slashers, you may automatically think of Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, or Urban Legend... But this is a slasher movie to ride that wave and not only be mature about it, but not go overboard with the in your face references, or try to be something it's not. I have always had much respect for this film and it's director, since he did Urban Legend. But this was more of a test of how mature and well written/executed a "common" slasher could actually be. It's great. Enjoy, people....more1h 45minPlay
February 03, 2021Coming 2 America Trailer 2 Reaction/ThoughtsAlright, alright... I will give this a fair shot. But only because I consider myself a fair man at the end of the day. Enjoy, folks....more22minPlay
February 02, 2021Cube 2021 Teaser Trailer Reaction/ThoughtsI didn't expect to see this just yet but there was some brief news earlier about both a US and Japanese remake of Cube, which took me by surprise... And since I'm an overall big fan of the original film, of course I had to check this one out. The original Cube is such an underrated gem to me, and it's got a great sense of claustrophobia to it, which adds to how the characters are quickly able to turn on each other in the midst of being trapped in an unknown structure. Equipped with fatal traps. The sequels aren't great, but this is still a great concept nonetheless. So it'll be interesting to see how intricate and vicious an overseas remake can get. Enjoy, folks....more19minPlay
February 02, 2021Top 5 Vampire Flicks (With Honorable Mentions)There's been a huge shortage of vampire films honestly... Good ones anyway. With the exception of things like the Twilight series, there hasn't been a big enough vampire property to generate an insane buzz across cinema, which pisses me off. These types of flicks are the only time in my life where I don't want to be sucker free, because I do enjoy a good bloody vamp go round. But there's definitely more than a few that stand out as far as I'm concerned. And that goes for both the vampires themselves and the characters up against them. Enjoy, y'all....more1h 23minPlay
