EPISODE 50!!!!
Jen and Kim talk about why people smoke toad venom, and that you should never steal your son's edible brownies and feed them to senior citizens (especially if he's a teacher).
Also, they give an update on Megan Fox's new engagement ring that is designed to hurt if she takes it off. Yes. This is true.
They tackle something we don't often talk about which is student burnout and student refusal.
Kim talks about a book that has the teacher binge eating while her students are peeping into her windows. Finally, Jen tells us the real story of Rip Van Winkle. We learn that you should never drink from a keg given to you by a stranger.

Kim and Jen had a great time listening to Dr. Stephens' story. He went from post-secondary instruction into the world of analytics and then to an Ed-Tech start-up. He gives very sound advice on how to transition into the world outside of education. He reminds us that teachers are qualified for far more than they think.

Happy mid-month everyone!
Jen and Kim review the Snapple poll results. They also ask the age-old questions: Should drinking your partner's blood be part of your engagement ritual? Do we really need the National Gaurd and parents to step to substitute? Should we lower the qualification standards to be a teacher right now?
They also answer a listener request to give tips on how to survive the end of the year whether you are staying or leaving the field of education. Finally, they compare the nursery rhyme, Little Bo Peep, to education.

Jen and Kim are all over the place in this episode. They did away with the dumpster fire of an episode that was all about pandemics. Kim was waiting for her Covid results so she forgets what she was doing throughout the episode.  They discuss the teacher who put her Covid positive kid in the trunk of her car. They give a tribute to Betty White and delve into the Chicago teacher strike. Fox Five newscasters caused them a visceral reaction that had to be deleted. Jen shares a letter read by a high school student that discusses what it is really like in school right now. They talk about the awesome 6th grader who saved two lives in a day. They also discuss the pros and cons of cameras in Florida classrooms.  You will learn the real story of Beauty and the Beast.

Happy New Year Everyone!!
Jen and Kim welcome the new year with their winter break stories. (Kim gets to the bathroom just in time wearing her new badass boots in Nashville.) Jen talks about the history of teacher shortages. Giving teachers orchids or jeans passes isn't enough of an incentive to stay. They introduce an upcoming new segment where they will be interviewing educators about major topics in education. They also give their opinion on why Peter Pan is an ass, and why Tinkerbell had unresolved rage issues.
