It's never nice when band members have to leave a gig early due to work commitments BUT there was no way Tom from White Raven Down was leaving without an interview, I kept Tom company whilst we walked down the many flights of stairs at The Station, Cannock.
I'm sure you've all seen the video footage of the interview, but here it is in all it's glory!
    Enjoy!

I caught up with Dave Clarke the owner of premier music venue The Station in Cannock. He has over 25 years active as professional Bassist/bass tutor. He is currently an endorser of Sandberg bass Guitars, Bassics pedals, MXR, Ashdown Amplification, Dunlop Strings.

We talk about his venue and how you at home can support it, if we don't use our local venues we risk losing them so support is greatly received! He also tells you what the process is if you are in a band and  want to play at this fantastic venue!

  • Tom, not in his dads car this time-7 Year War

    Send us Fan Mail

A few months back I caught up with the guys in "7 Year War" I caught up with Tom to see how things were progressing in their camp and we chatted about their new single which is released at the end of April, Baby Killer. Don't worry folks, no babies were harmed in the making of this episode and Tom talks us through the reason behind
the name and where it came from!

We chatted about various gigs they have in the pipeline and their appearance at Drunken Monkey Rock Festival.
The Drunken Monkey Rock Festival was launched nearly 10  years ago, in memory of local Worcestershire man Ian Dowton, who died after a car accident. It has raised over £11,000 so far for the life-saving Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Which is a charity close to my heart, especially as in my day job I work very closely with them.
If I could split myself in half I would but I am already covering another festival on the weekend in which this fantastic event is held.

Have a listen to me and Tom play guess the tune, I've since sent him away to practice his music trivia!

  • Let's do our bit to help- Jason Edwards Mental Health

    Send us Fan Mail

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In the United Kingdom, mental health issues represent the single largest cause of disability.
The stigma associated with mental illness is reported to be the biggest barrier preventing people from seeking care and treatment. However, the attitude of people toward mental health has changed in recent years and this is exactly what I'm aiming to do, try my hardest to banish the stigma surrounding mental health and giving people a platform to discuss their journeys in hope to give others the strength that they need to come forward.

Jason Edwards, for his 50th birthday did 6 and a half hours of constant strength and conditioning exercises in the gym to raise money for Mental Health!! Thank you so much for all that you do to help with mental health awareness and thank you for providing a safe space for people to go if they are feeling low!!

  • Adam and the Hellcats- Hearts and Hand Grenades Tour

    Send us Fan Mail

Me and the HellCats go back a long time and they are one of my favourite bands because they are so fun to be around and one of the most welcoming, warmest bands I've ever met, they are a bunch of misfits that just wanna play music-and my goodness do they do just that!!
Each cool cat has their own style and when they come together they create a Clowder/Destruction/Clutter (all of which are common terms given to a group of cats)

It was so nice to catch up with them on their last date of the Hearts and Hand Grenade Tour at The Station, Cannock, They were shattered, bruised and battered but somehow still managed to find time after their fantastic set to entertain me and allow me to quiz them!

Please check them out, you will not be disappointed, I mean there's not many father and son combos on the stage as good as these guys!

    Send us Fan Mail

All storms shall pass, is a phrase used to describe this interview. Rage Sadler of Kaine very kindly agreed to open up about his personal struggles over the last few years and I'm sure these struggles resonate in all of us.
We wanted to share that it is normal to hit bumps in the road and eventually things will get better, just give it time. The cost of living crisis has hit us all and Rage is back stronger than ever before!
We move on to discuss Kaine, and how he managed to rebuild the band in a record amount of time!

P.S- No Supermarkets were harmed in this episode!

I had the honour of chatting to Julian Jackson who is a director of Witton Albion Fc!
They very kindly allow us to host our glorious festival Rockwich at the U Lock It Stadium!
Not only do some of the club members help around the stadium they also ensure that we have warm showers over the festival weekend and they give up their time for free to do this so I just want to say a massive thank you on behalf of everybody at RockWich Festival!
I told Julian that the only time I'd release this podcast is if my beloved Leek Town lost to Witton Albion and sadly today was that day. I have wiped away my tears and have composed myself so that I can release this episode featuring some of the kindest, and loveliest people that I have had the pleasure of meeting!
It's a fantastic feeling knowing that by hosting our grassroots festival at this grassroots football club, we can support them as a club and they can support us as a festival!
Music and Football...I don't think you can find a better combination?
