Two Hearts and One Braincell: Cassidy Carson & JT Hume Amateur Hour

For episode 231 of our award-winning podcast, it's our "July Wrap-Up" show with a return to our podcast's basic mission statement.

CC published "#passionrestored" on July 24, and she did a media blitz that included a live interview on KOLO8 in Reno, Nevada. Release Week was a roller coaster.

Here's that interview.

We posted writer interviews in July through the "CC & JT Amateur Hour" and the "Nevada Author Network." Every one of these professionals are bright and articulate. We are learning so much!

Jacci Turner, July 2

Dr. Deb Kossman, July 6

Lynda Bailey, July 9

Cassidy Carson, July 16

Joel Flanagan-Grannemann, July 20

Dr. Danny Nielsen, July 23

Jade Griffin, July 30

We did a book signing at the Reno Public Market (thank you, Mr. Bill Brown!), and we're looking forward to do more in October (Mark Twain Days) and November at Barnes & Noble in Reno.

We have three books in the editing process. Finding Salvation Part Two is with our fabulous creative editor Teri Case, and the third A Sheriff in Nevada is at Red Adept Editing. On top of that, Serving Salvation Book Three is also at Red Adept.

For this podcast, we got back to our basic mission statement: "Helping writers write." Using the above graphic by Steve Peha (copyright protected), we illustrate how to write a book by building a house. We metaphorically start with a usable framework and progress to customizing the fixtures. We hope we made sense.

All this and Moore! TIA LYL!

For episode 230 (not 229) of our award-winning podcast to help writers write, we’re giving ourselves a pep talk.

We are rapidly approaching another book release, and as CC says, we’re on a rollercoaster of emotions. We try to answer the Big Question: why do we keep doing this to ourselves?

Bottom Line: If you’re a writer, don’t minimize publishing a book. It’s a fantastic achievement.

We’ve kept busy:

CC’s Virginia City romance #passionrestored will be released on July 24. It’s available for presale across the platforms, and CC is getting a lotta love for the cover. CC will be interviewed on the Nevada Author Network on Wednesday, July 16.

I have a couple of Book Three’s going to editors this week:

-Serving Salvation Book Three completes the series and will be released in late August or early September. The prequels will be released in late 2025 and early 2026.

-The third A Sheriff in Nevada novel, my most popular series, will be released on October 31.

We've enjoyed several rewarding interviews with our colleagues around the world and through the Nevada Author Network, including Lynda Bailey, Dr. Deb Kossmann, Jacci Turner, Suzanne Morgan Williams, and Rich Moreno.

Coming up: Cassidy Carson, Alice Osborn, Joel Flanagan-Grannemann, Justin Egar, and many more.

All this and Moore! Check us out. TIA LYL!

For episode 229 of our award-winning podcast, we had a great June with so much fun.

Starting off, CC finally got to do our title and cover reveal of #Passionrestored, years in the making. She received love for the cover, and the book is getting preorders on Amazon. We’ll get it up on the other platforms this week.

On the same day of the reveals. June 26, we went to Virginia City--the setting of CC’s book—to get an old-timey photo. That was a fun little adventure.

We’re still depressurizing from our book selling event at Barnes and Noble, and we’re gearing up for another book event at Reno Artown. We’ll be part of Author’s Day, their literary event, on July 5th with 30-something local authors. Come on by the Reno Public Market and say hi! Our thanks to Bill Brown for cat herding us!

Aside from #Passionrestored,

-Serving Salvation Book Two is out. It’s available on most platforms and our online bookstore.

-Serving Salvation Book Three will be released in August.

-The A Sheriff in Nevada series continues to be our most popular books. The third one is still being editing and is scheduled for release on the real Nevada Day.

Finally, the most fun we’ve been having lately are the interviews with other writers. We are learning so much. If you want to join in, check out our Writers page. In June, we spoke to a bunch of smart, fun people, and we'll do it again in July.

All this and Moore! Check us out. TIA LYL!
